Audrey Sutton’s smile froze at the corners, then vanished. She turned to look out the window, muttering, "Can’t get anything nice out of a dog’s mouth!"

Shane Warner just smiled silently, looking down at the tablet in his hand, his fingers sliding aimlessly across the screen.

Outside the car window, the rain pattered down, leaving traces of raindrops across the glass, making the colorful neon lights on the street ripple.

Inside the car, it was quiet. Audrey Sutton quietly withdrew her gaze from the window and glanced silently at Shane Warner, sitting next to her.

The faint light from the tablet’s screen outlined his perfect profile.

Seeing him darken the tablet screen, Audrey Sutton quickly looked away, pretending to continue enjoying the scenery outside the window.

Soon after, she heard him say, "I might be quite busy this coming week. Just take care of yourself, and please look after the General too."

"...So you’re not coming ho these days?"

Shane paused, then smiled, "I will, just probably quite late."

If she weren’t at ho, he might just stay at the company.

Even though the upcoming days might be a routine of leaving early and returning late, barely seeing each other during the day, having a place to call ho was like recharging his energy every day.

In fact, Audrey Sutton was also becoming quite busy herself, spending ti attending classes at school and rushing to finish drafts at ho.

She didn’t even have the ti to go out shopping with her roommates.

In recent days, Shane Warner was leaving early and returning late; by the ti Audrey was up, he was already gone, and sotis he returned at two or three in the morning. She would hear sounds, but by then, she was so deeply asleep that she couldn’t get up to greet him.

That day, like usual, Audrey Sutton woke up to the alarm’s call.

Since it was the weekend, she lazily lay in bed, watching the sunlight spill onto the windowsill, where champagne-colored roses were in full bloom.

Her gaze shifted to the bedside table, intending to pick up her phone charging there, but suddenly she noticed a wine-red velvet box that didn’t belong to her, embossed with Starfield’s logo.

Audrey Sutton imdiately sat up from the bed, reaching out to take the box and open it, her once-drowsy eyes suddenly brightening.

Inside the box lay a uniquely designed necklace. She recognized it imdiately—it was "The Lunar Palace Starfield."

The finished product was more stunning than she imagined, with tiny diamonds sparkling even without direct light, like twinkling stars, perfectly matching the na of the piece.

However, she rembered that it wasn’t on her bedside last night, so he must have quietly placed it there after she fell asleep?

Audrey Sutton carefully spread the necklace on her hand and then grabbed her phone to take a picture in the sunlight.

Under the sunlight, her fair skin glowed, and the tiny diamonds on the necklace sparkled even more brilliantly.

Audrey initially wanted to post the picture on social dia, but rembering Shane Warner’s words about keeping this under wraps for their quarterly product launch, she decided not to reveal it for now.

She couldn’t tell if the diamonds on the necklace were man-made or natural, but considering the ticulous craftsmanship, even if man-made, it wouldn’t be cheap.

She sent the picture to Shane Warner, asking: Is this a gift for ?!

After sending the ssage, Shane Warner didn’t respond imdiately. Audrey Sutton didn’t wait for his reply either; she set down her phone and went to freshen up.

She knew he was busy and that he would reply when he saw her ssage, so now she didn’t think too much about it, unlike before when a delayed response would make her overthink.

At noon, since he wasn’t ho, Audrey Sutton was too lazy to cook, so she ordered takeout on her phone.

Hugging her laptop, she sat at the small table on the balcony, as if in a secret little garden, basking in the sun while working on assignnts given by her teacher.

The General lazily sprawled on the mat at her feet, wagging his fluffy large tail.

Audrey Sutton felt he was quite bored all alone, so she thought about getting the cat in two days.

About twenty minutes after ordering the takeout, Audrey heard a soft sound near the door.

Feeling puzzled, she wondered why the delivery wasn’t ringing the doorbell and seed to be using a key to open the door.

Before her heart could race with panic, the door opened, and Shane Warner walked in. He looked up and saw Audrey Sutton standing in the living room, asking her, "Have you eaten?"

"Yes... Yes. Why did you co back?"

"For so docunts. Just a little surprise inspection, to see if you’re behaving at ho."

Audrey Sutton swallowed nervously, glad the takeout hadn’t arrived yet.

If he saw her ordering takeout at ho, he would surely nag her about it.

Seeing Shane Warner change his shoes and walk upstairs, Audrey stood at the stairs and asked him, "Have you eaten?"

"Not yet. I thought this would be a good ti to co ho, but who knew you’d eat so early."

Audrey suddenly regretted not cooking, "You should’ve told earlier, then I could’ve waited to eat with you."

He walked into the study and quickly ca out with a folder, saying, "Tonight, we’re free."

As she watched him leave the house without even sitting for a mont, Audrey wanted to ask him to stay but didn’t dare.

Afraid that if he stayed ho a second longer, the delivery person would co and they’d bump into each other.

"I’m off. I’ll be done work at half past five, et at the office. There’s a new fish place across the street; I’ll take you to try it."

Audrey nodded repeatedly, waving to him at the door, "Bye, rember to eat too."

"Mm, I’ll eat at the office."

"Ding-dong—" From afar, she heard the elevator arriving at the floor, and Audrey’s heart skipped a beat. Could it be such bad timing?

Just as Shane Warner stepped out, he saw a young man in a delivery uniform approaching, glancing at the door number above the fra, asking Shane with a smile, "Sir, did you order takeout?"

Shane’s brow furrowed, turning to look at Audrey Sutton standing at the door with a guilty expression.

Watching her squeeze into the doorway, gingerly reaching out to take the bag from the delivery person without looking at Shane’s face.

The delivery guy smiled and said, "Please give a five-star review if you’re satisfied!"

"Certainly, certainly!"

The delivery guy turned and left, while Shane leaned against the door, glancing at Audrey, "Didn’t you say you ate? Hungry so soon?"

"...Afternoon tea," Audrey murmured in defense.

Shane glanced at the stuff in her hands; through the transparent plastic bag, he could vaguely see the contents.

A round foil bowl, probably clay pot rice, along with two spicy sausages and a cup of iced milk tea.

He stared at her for a while and then said, his lips turning slightly upward, "I’ll deal with you tonight."
