Hannah clenched her fists inside her sleeves, glanced at Evan Sutton, then lowered her head and said, "...I lost my wallet and phone."

Evan Sutton: "Where did you lose them?"

Hannah: "I fell asleep on the bus, groggily rode to the terminal, got called off by the driver, and only realized after a while."

Evan Sutton looked at Hannah; her dejected look didn’t seem like she was lying.

"Did you call the police?"

Hannah shook her head, obviously encountering such a situation for the first ti, lacking experience, probably never even thought about calling the police.

Evan Sutton gave her a helpless look, asked, "Then why are you following ?"

Hannah sniffed: "...I don’t know who to turn to."

"Then what should I do? I’m off work and need to go ho."

Hannah hung her head in silence.

After a brief silence, Evan Sutton said, "You need a doctor when you’re sick; you should go to the police when you’re in trouble."

Hannah remained standing in place, wordless.

Evan Sutton opened the car door and sat in the driver’s seat, spoke to Hannah, who looked like she was about to cry, "Don’t act here, the police station is right next door, go there yourself."

Finished speaking, Evan Sutton closed the car door, started the vehicle, and slowly backed up.

Hannah stepped back slightly, pressed her lips, watched Evan Sutton drive away, and suddenly tears welled up, feeling aggrieved and helpless, raised her hand to wipe her tears.

Evan Sutton saw this scene in the rearview mirror and ultimately couldn’t bear it.

He didn’t drive far before stopping the car, lowered the window, and shouted to Hannah behind, "Get in."

Hannah was stunned for a mont, thinking she misheard, but when she saw Evan Sutton waiting for her in the parked car, she imdiately brightened as if the storm had passed, raised her arm to wipe her face energetically, broke into a smile, and quickly ran towards Evan Sutton.

She opened the door to the back seat and got into the car.

Evan Sutton said nothing and slowly started the car once Hannah closed the door.

He took her to the police station, filed a report, gave a statent, asked her for details about when and where she boarded and which bus she took, then the police would locate the bus and retrieve the onboard surveillance.

But investigations and apprehensions take ti, so she would have to wait for the results.

Walking out of the police station, Evan Sutton turned to the disheartened Hannah, asking her, "Where’s your ho? I’ll take you back."

Hannah paused and mumbled, "I don’t want to go back."

Evan Sutton: "What?"

Hannah repeated, "My dad’s not ho; I don’t want to go back and be a punching bag."

Evan Sutton couldn’t quite understand the ntality of these rebellious kids who refuse to go ho, asked her, "Then where do you plan to go? I can’t waste my ti with you here; my family is waiting for to go back for dinner."

Then he heard Hannah softly say, "...I’m hungry too."

Evan Sutton looked helplessly at the young girl, coincidentally his phone rang, it was Hazel Yates calling: "Evan, what ti are you coming ho today?"

Looking at Hannah’s big, dark eyes, still glistening with tears, blinking at him, Evan Sutton paused and answered, "Mom, don’t wait for today; it’s a colleague’s birthday, I’m eating out."

Hazel Yates: "Oh, alright, it’s cold at night, rember to co back early."

Evan Sutton: "Yes, I’ll co back as soon as I finish dinner."

Hanging up the phone, Evan Sutton put away his mobile, lightly asked Hannah, "What do you want to eat?"

Hannah pursed her lips, not daring to express an opinion: "...Anything’s fine."

Evan Sutton pointed across the street at a noodle shop, said, "If anything’s fine, then let’s have so noodles to fill your stomach."

Hannah frowned, softly expressing her reluctance, "...I want at."

Evan Sutton: "Just say what you want to eat, don’t waste ti."

Hannah: "...Is steak alright?"

Evan Sutton took her to a nearby Western restaurant. Perhaps because of the mood, Hannah seed much less reserved than before.

She spoke less, not because she didn’t want to talk, but because it seed Evan Sutton was unwilling to interact with her; she hesitated several tis.

Though she usually acted carefree, she actually paid attention to people’s expressions.

At the Sue Family, she’d always lived cautiously, but even if she tried to avoid trouble, it always found her.

Grace Sue was the family’s darling, everyone adored her, fulfilling her every wish.

But she was rely a disgraceful illegitimate child, bullied even by the Sue Family’s servants.

She indulged in vanity among classmates just because she refused to lose to Grace Sue.

Yet reality laid bare before her—how could she compare to Grace Sue? If not for her father sowhat protecting her, she might have been expelled from the family long ago.

"Oh, isn’t this Miss Sue herself? Didn’t expect you had the taste to dine here, huh? Isn’t your preference street food?" A provocative mocking voice sounded.

Hannah and Evan Sutton both turned towards the sound, it was the sa group who had clashed with Hannah by the roadside before.

"Tsk tsk, isn’t this LV bag newly bought last week, Miss Sue? Why’s the chain peeling already?"

"Which wholesale market did you buy it from?"

The group roared with laughter, Hannah stood up angrily and said, "What do you know? This worn-out style is trending now, and anyway, what I want to eat or where I eat is my business, who are you to comnt?"

"Yes, yes, you’re the Sue family’s daughter after all. Even if you’re an illegitimate daughter, you still bear the Sue na. No matter how anyone looks down on you, you can’t embarrass the Sue Family, right?"

"Hahaha, Molly, that’s harsh, how can you speak about Miss Sue like that? She might go and complain to her father~"

"Tch, that’s Grace’s father—we all know he wouldn’t care about her. Stop being self-deluded, clinging desperately to soone else’s family, anything happens they won’t care a whit."

Hannah was evidently angered, as she spat insults back at her taunters, Evan Sutton suddenly chid in, addressing them, "Haven’t you said enough? This is a public place; being noisy while others dine is quite uncouth."

"Oh? Isn’t this the gentleman? The two of you really are together? Seems Miss Sue has so skills after all."

Saying this, that girl nad Molly leaned towards Evan Sutton and said, "Sir, be careful not to be fooled, Hannah can be quite deceitful."

Having said that, Molly provocatively smiled at Hannah, then waved to them, "Enjoy your al, both of you."

Another girl accompanying her imdiately clung to Molly’s arm, quietly said, "Did Hannah really get that handso guy? Such a handso man couldn’t be interested in her, right?"

"Moreover, isn’t that guy a Sutton heir? I rember seeing him in a magazine."

"No way? A Sutton heir? Hannah is trying to beco a phoenix? Such ambition!"

Molly snorted disdainfully, "You think Hannah can succeed? She might be dumped tomorrow. A wild hen is still a hen, perching in a high place won’t change that, let alone she might not even reach the branch!"
