As Norman Sutton stepped out of the restaurant, he happened to see Lana Holloway getting into Justin Jewell’s car.
He quickly walked to where he parked his car, started it, and followed them imdiately.
The two cars arrived at the underground parking lot of the mall one after the other.
Lana Holloway hadn’t noticed Norman Sutton following them, and after getting out of the car, she walked side by side with Justin Jewell towards the elevator entrance.
Norman Sutton parked in a nearby spot and hurriedly walked in the direction of where they were leaving.
Just in ti for when the elevator doors were closing, he blocked the doors from closing.
Aside from Lana Holloway and Justin Jewell, there was another couple in the elevator.
Lana Holloway and Justin Jewell stood on the sa side, and as the elevator door opened, all four of them turned their eyes to Norman Sutton.
The other three glanced at Norman Sutton like he was an ordinary passerby, but Lana Holloway widened her eyes, as if wanting to ask sothing, yet she didn’t want others to know she was acquainted with Norman Sutton.
Justin Jewell didn’t notice anything unusual and gently pulled Lana Holloway’s arm to bring her further into the elevator, then continued discussing their earlier topic, softly asking Lana Holloway, "Do you co to the cinema often?"
Lana Holloway glanced awkwardly and warily at Norman Sutton; seeing that he didn’t seem to intend to greet her, she faced away from them and stood by the elevator door, which slightly relieved her as she answered Justin Jewell, saying, "...Back when I was still in school, I’d sotis co with classmates. Now, everyone’s busy with work, so it’s rare to gather together; I hardly go to the movies anymore."
Justin Jewell remarked, "True, after starting work, it’s not as free as school life was—everyone has their own thing to busy themselves with, so eting up becos really difficult."
Lana Holloway rely smiled, with Norman Sutton, the "listening device," here, she would prefer not to speak if possible.
Actually, she was quite curious about why Norman Sutton followed them here. It didn’t seem coincidental; she recalled that when she left the restaurant, their table was still lively, so she hadn’t thought Norman Sutton would follow her.
After going to the cinema, Lana Holloway almost confird that suspicion.
As she and Justin Jewell were getting the tickets at the machine, Norman Sutton approached, patted Justin Jewell’s shoulder, and asked, "Buddy, what movie are you watching? Any recomndations?"
Justin Jewell assud it was a normal stranger’s small talk, didn’t think much of it, pointed to the ad stand beside the ticket machine, smiling as he replied, "This one."
"Thanks, buddy, was just worrying about what to watch." Saying that, Norman Sutton turned to the manual ticket counter and bought a ticket for the sa showti, and then got so cola and popcorn, found a spot to sit, and waited for the movie to start.
He seed quite leisurely, appearing not to care about his surroundings or the people around, though, in fact, his peripheral vision constantly glanced in Lana Holloway and Justin Jewell’s direction, unsure what the two were chatting about, they just kept talking like they were thoroughly enjoying themselves.
About ten minutes later, they started checking tickets at the entrance.
Norman Sutton got ahead of Lana Holloway and Justin Jewell to the film screening hall.
When he bought the ticket, he specifically chose the last row to ensure he could see Lana Holloway and Justin Jewell without fail.
They entered fairly early, the hall’s lights hadn’t dimd yet, Lana Holloway and Justin Jewell’s seats were directly ahead of him, but three rows apart, slightly far, and the seatbacks were quite high, barely allowing him to see their heads and nothing more.
While Norman Sutton was lost in thought, Justin Jewell stood up and walked away, presumably to the restroom.
As soon as Justin Jewell left, Lana Holloway turned to look at Norman Sutton, with eyes questioning what he was up to.
Norman Sutton nonchalantly raised his eyebrows and saw a young girl with popcorn sitting in the seat on Lana Holloway’s other side.
With a quick thought, Norman Sutton got up and walked over, ignoring Lana Holloway’s glare, he smiled at the girl and said, "Miss, want to switch seats?"
The girl glanced up at him, initially looking like she’d ignore him, but since the guy seed handso, she asked, "Where’s your seat?"
Norman Sutton flashed a charming smile and pointed to the last row; the girl imdiately made a face and said, "Too far, I’m nearsighted, not switching."
Maintaining his smile, he said, "How about we add each other on WhatsApp?"
Upon hearing this, the girl paused her popcorn-eating, thinking she had a stroke of romantic luck with a handso guy hitting on her, then heard Norman Sutton add, "Or give your paynt code; I’ll transfer a thousand to you to swap seats."
"Really?" Upon hearing about the money, the girl seed tempted.
Norman Sutton pulled out his phone, already opened to the scan page, saying, "If it’s not enough, I can add more."
The girl hesitated for a mont, took out her phone, didn’t display her paynt code, but instead showed her WhatsApp QR code, presenting it under Norman Sutton’s phone, and after hearing the scan success sound, she stood up, smiling as she said, "Forget the money, let’s just be friends and go to the movies together so ti."
Norman Sutton nodded, "I’ll cover your movie tickets for a year."
The girl was overjoyed, and she cheerfully moved to the last row.
Lana Holloway was dumbfounded watching Norman Sutton’s "slick moves," realizing those friends saying he’s flirting all over might just be true.
Norman Sutton sat down, turned his head to look at Lana Holloway, and coldly snorted, "Moving fast, huh? Dinner and straight to a dark cinema, what’s the plan here? Going to his place afterward?"
Lana Holloway glanced at Norman Sutton’s arm on the seat armrest, showing he was clearly crossing the line. Unhappily, she pushed his arm away, saying, "None of your business! Why are you following ?"
Norman Sutton mocked, "Following you? Is this cinema yours? Only you can co here?"
Lana Holloway retorted, "Then why switch seats?"
Norman Sutton self-righteously replied, "I’m nearsighted."
Finally, he sarcastically added, "Don’t worry, I won’t disturb you, but rember, this is a public place, better not do anything unscrupulous; it’s disgusting."
Before Lana Holloway could respond, Justin Jewell returned.
As people were nearly all present, the cinema lights dimd, and the movie screen started projecting the film.
Lana Holloway instinctively didn’t want Justin Jewell to know she and Norman Sutton were acquainted, not out of guilt.
She was rely afraid Norman Sutton would pull so embarrassing trick and drag her into it.
She was used to Norman Sutton’s sarcastic remarks, but she feared his impolite actions regardless of the situation, and Lana Holloway only hoped he would stay put and not cause a scene.
