The nurse sighed and said, "Ah, she’s injured so badly we don’t know if she’ll survive, but the siblings probably have a good relationship. Young Master Sterling is guarding outside the ergency room without eating or drinking, he’s lost his soul."
Jasmine Lucas: "Is he still there now?"
Nurse: "Yes, but you’d better not go and bother him, he’s in a really bad mood now. His clothes are all bloody, and he hasn’t changed them. Audrey Sutton was very worried about Vanessa Sterling’s condition, so Jasmine Lucas stayed at the hospital, waiting for the latest news.
At around two in the morning, a doctor finally erged from the operating room and told Miles Sterling, "Miss Sterling is severely injured; we’ve completed preliminary surgery, but she’s not out of danger yet. We had to send her directly to the intensive care unit. She has multiple fractures all over her body, and there’s also damage inside her skull. These will need gradual treatnt later if she pulls through. For now, we just hope she can make it through the night."
Miles Sterling looked sowhat dazed, his eyes reddened with bloodshot veins. After a long while, he finally spoke, "I want to see her."
The doctor sighed, "Follow ."
Through the glass, looking at Vanessa surrounded by a pile of dical instrunts, her face was as pale as the bandage wrapped around her head.
Though she didn’t look as blood-soaked and horrifying as before, she still appeared completely devoid of any sign of life.
He recalled Vanessa driving straight into him, seemingly ready to perish together with him.
Though she had always been a very timid person, she managed to make such a drastic decision and act within such a short ti. Perhaps she truly never planned to survive coming back with him...
Did she really hate him that much?
The next morning, Jasper Jones rushed back to Rivia.
Anna was taken to the company by Shane Warner, allowing Audrey Sutton to et up with Jasper Jones and go to the hospital together.
But they neither found Miles Sterling nor got to see Vanessa.
Apparently, Miles Sterling had already instructed that no one was allowed to visit Vanessa. Despite Audrey Sutton’s explanations, and even ntioning Shane Warner, the staff in charge only helplessly shook their head: "Mrs. Warner, please don’t make it difficult for us. I’ve already inford you of Miss Sterling’s current condition. If I let you in, I surely won’t keep my job. My entire family relies on to earn a living."
Audrey Sutton didn’t make things difficult for the staff any further. Even though Miles doesn’t have as much influence as Shane Warner, when it cos to holding a dical staff accountable, he certainly could do it.
Jasper Jones looked remorseful and worried, "It’s all my fault, all my fault for not protecting Vanessa properly. I didn’t even know she was taken away by Miles Sterling."
Audrey Sutton remained relatively calm and told Jasper Jones, "Brother Jones, I think you shouldn’t make an appearance in the anti. Because right now, Miles Sterling may suspect you were involved in Vanessa’s escape, I’m afraid he might cause trouble for you. He can do anything, so it’s best to be careful. Wait until things stabilize, I’ll keep an eye on Vanessa’s situation and notify you of any updates."

Having faked her death once, Miles Sterling will definitely be even stricter with Vanessa.
Audrey Sutton thought that helping Vanessa escape might not be the solution to the problem.
Perhaps the one who should be saved is not Vanessa, but the root of the problem—Miles Sterling.

Jasmine Lucas hesitated for a while, then said, "I’ll talk to Miss Jennings. I think if she knows about Vanessa’s situation, she might be willing to help. But this isn’t sothing that can be resolved quickly. Even if Miss Jennings agrees, it might take so ti for Miles Sterling to make changes."
