Evan Sutton replied without thinking, "Impossible."

Hannah Sue stirred the pot with her chopsticks and said, "Just tell them I’m your assistant. I won’t cause any trouble for you."

Evan Sutton: "Hiring child labor is illegal."

Hannah Sue: "I’m almost sixteen, that’s not child labor anymore! I’m almost an adult!"

Evan Sutton turned and walked towards the kitchen door, saying, "Your current level of education isn’t qualified to be my assistant. Focus on your studies."

As he spoke, Evan Sutton paused, turned to look at Hannah Sue, and said, "By the way, don’t put too much chili in my noodles."

Hannah Sue huffed. He just said hiring child labor was illegal, and now he’s ordering her around as if it’s perfectly natural.

But this is a good sign. Let him get used to coming ho after work to find soone cooking. When there’s no one to cook for him, he’ll appreciate her more.

With that thought, Hannah Sue couldn’t help but feel a bit smug inside.

Even though Evan Sutton still treats her like a kid, without a hint of romantic interest.

But as long as she keeps an eye on him and doesn’t give other won a chance, this man will be hers sooner or later.

When Evan Sutton had ti off, Hannah Sue packed up her things and went back to Rivia with him.

Of course, Evan Sutton wouldn’t bring Hannah Sue ho with him, so she found a hotel near the Suttons’ house. Naturally, Evan paid for the hotel stay.

Evan accompanied her upstairs to her room, looked around at the surroundings, then instructed Hannah Sue, "Order delivery if you’re hungry. Don’t wander around aimlessly, and finish your practice exercises. I’ll check them later."

Standing by the door with her backpack, Hannah Sue looked at him and said pitifully, "You’re just going to leave here all alone?"

Evan Sutton said, as if it were only natural, "Didn’t we agree on this before coming back? Either you stay at ho or I get you a hotel, and you chose this."

Hannah Sue: "But it’s still the Chinese New Year period, even if you don’t take ho for a al, you should at least take so ti to go out with ."

Evan Sutton sighed helplessly, but couldn’t bear to refuse, so he asked, "Where do you want to go?"

Hannah Sue smiled and said, "I saw the amusent park is having a discount event, and I can get an even cheaper rate with my student ID. Why don’t we go there?"

Evan Sutton thought for a mont, as if considering his own schedule, then said, "Let’s go in the afternoon. I’ll co find you after I eat."

Hannah Sue nodded repeatedly, "Then hurry back quickly."

Evan Sutton responded with an "Mmm," seeming still sowhat uneasy, hesitated at the door before just saying, "Don’t wander off alone."

During the Chinese New Year, it seed a bit heartless for Evan to leave Hannah alone in a hotel, but he really couldn’t bring her ho. Taking her out for so fun would be a nice compromise.

But on second thought, they were at most just ordinary friends, and he wasn’t obligated to care for her feelings. If he were a bit more heartless, he could leave her completely alone.

But he couldn’t bring himself to be that heartless.

Because, in so ways, Hannah Sue was very much like him.

He was just much luckier than Hannah Sue, having t a family that cared a lot for him, never letting him suffer.

Even without any blood ties, they never treated him as an outsider.

Knowing Evan was coming back today, Hazel Yates had been organizing today’s lunch since the morning. The whole family gathered, making every day feel like a festive celebration.

The other unmarried brothers in the family had been getting nagged by Hazel for days. Since Evan had been away for a while, the topic at the dining table naturally revolved around him today.

Hazel, full of care, served Evan a bowl of chicken soup and asked, "Work must be tough over there, right? You look thinner this ti."

Evan Sutton smiled lightly, "It’s the sa work, not tough."

Hazel: "You don’t cook for yourself. The food outside isn’t as good as ho-cooked als. Sotis you probably just grab whatever to get by."

At the ntion of food, Evan couldn’t help but think of Hannah Sue, who had been cooking all sorts of dishes for him recently.

He took a sip of the soup, quietly replying, "The hospital cafeteria food is decent. Mom, don’t worry too much."

Hazel sighed, "Why did you have to get transferred so far away? It was much better when you worked here and ca ho every day."

Samuel Sutton couldn’t help but say to Hazel, "They’re not kids anymore. Why do you have to have them under your nose every day to feel at ease? Even the youngest, Audrey, is married now, yet you worry endlessly."

Norman Sutton muttered, "Yeah, and you never seem to worry about ."

When Norman spoke up, Hazel couldn’t help but question him, "Did you upset Lana again? She didn’t even co when I invited her for dinner."

Norman pouted, "Who cares if she cos or not? It’s not like I can’t eat without her. Besides, she’s not your daughter-in-law; maybe she’s busy dating, doesn’t have ti for us every day."

Hazel: "Where are you going to find a wife with a mouth like yours!"

Norman, unfazed, said, "Ha, there’s a long line of girls wanting to be my wife. I just don’t want to find one."

Audrey and Phoebe shared a knowing smile, Audrey remarked, "Just afraid when you want to find soone, you won’t find the right one."

Phoebe added, "Oh, when we go out this afternoon, I’ll have my cousin try hard to woo Lana. Then Lana can be part of the family and co for dinner every day."

Norman pouted, seemingly indifferent, but after seeing Phoebe’s cousin’s appearance yesterday, he did feel a bit of pressure.

That guy was tall, with a mixed-race face yet looked very handso with a refined manner. He spoke softly, clearly a type many girls would like.

Most importantly, he seed interested in Lana Holloway. After seeing her photo, he didn’t shy away from praising her for quite a while.

Hazel noticed Evan’s empty soup bowl and imdiately served him another bowl, asking, "Evan, have you t any girls you like over there?"

Evan paused briefly while picking up so food, then with a slight smile, said, "I haven’t really been paying attention, and I haven’t considered this yet."

Hazel placed the filled soup bowl back beside Evan, earnestly saying, "You’re about the right age. Mom isn’t rushing you; just saying if you et the right girl, you might consider dating, don’t be like your third and fourth brothers."

Scott Sutton twitched the corner of his mouth, complaining, "So I don’t even get any chicken soup, and all I get is badmouthing? Mom, that’s just playing favorites."

Arthur Sutton, afraid the topic might shift to himself, stayed quiet and kept eating silently.
