Vanessa Sterling finished her workout and went upstairs with a cane.

Miles Sterling smoked a cigarette downstairs and then went up to Vanessa’s room.

Inside the room, two servants were tidying up. The bed was neatly made, but there was no sign of Vanessa.

"Young master."

"Where is she?"

The servant pointed towards the bathroom and said, "Miss is inside bathing. She insists she can handle it herself and refuses to let us assist."

Miles felt a shock in his heart, uneasy at the thought of Vanessa being alone in a secluded space.

He rushed over and pushed open the bathroom door without a word.

Vanessa, lying in the bathtub, was startled, and upon seeing Miles, her surprise was mixed with a sense of inevitability.

She reached for the towel beside her to cover her upper body, silently gazing at him.

As Miles barged in, all he could think about was a blood-stained bathtub scene.

Now, with their eyes eting, especially since Vanessa was not dressed, Miles felt slightly awkward, disguising it with a cough before casually closing the bathroom door.

The two servants stood dumbfounded, clearly puzzled by Miles’s bizarre actions.

Miles softly instructed, "You both should leave."

The two servants exchanged glances; one set down the clothes she was folding, and the other with cleaning tools, both left the room together.

With the door closed, only the rustling noises from the bathroom remained in the room.

Miles wasn’t sure what was wrong with himself; perhaps it had been too long since he had been with a woman?

He had rely glanced at Vanessa bathing, the tub full of bubbles, and she had imdiately covered herself with a towel. Essentially, he saw nothing, yet now his mouth felt dry.

He loosened his tie around his collar, took a few deep breaths, walked to Vanessa’s bed, and picked up the clothes next to it.

Most were white dresses, so he bought for her, others she purchased herself.

She mostly wore such dresses at ho.

The simplest, most elegant style seed to have beco her signature.

Thoughtfully, Miles folded the clothes neatly and placed them in the cabinet next to him.

After Vanessa bathed and dressed in her pajamas, she stood by the bathroom door and listened to the sounds outside.

The two aides would always chat while tidying up.

At this mont, however, it was completely silent outside; it seed everyone had left.

Vanessa was naturally not concerned about those two aides but about Miles, who just barged in inexplicably and left without saying a word.

The bathroom door was made of frosted glass, so as Vanessa’s shadow pressed against the door, Miles, standing beside it, clearly saw.

Knowing what Vanessa was listening for, he rely stood quietly, devoid of sound or movent.

"Click—"

The bathroom door lock turned and opened. Vanessa peeked out to confirm the room was empty before stepping out.

"Looks like you’re recovering well; you can manage on your own now."

The sudden voice from her side startled Vanessa, her body trembled, only then did she see Miles leaning against the bathroom wall.

Vanessa’s eyes quickly returned to calm. She turned her head, pretending she didn’t see Miles, picked up the cane at the bathroom door, walked to the dressing table, and began drying her hair with a towel.

"I’m suddenly very curious about sothing..." Miles walked behind Vanessa, leaning in close to her, staring through the dressing mirror, his lips moved slightly, asking, "Did you sleep with him?"

Vanessa initially didn’t intend to respond to Miles, but hearing his question made her pause while drying her hair.

Her expression remained deliberately calm, but with Miles right behind her, her inner fear had beco an instinct she couldn’t suppress, her back stiffened, and goosebumps appeared.

"Hmm? Answer ." Miles eagerly pursued an answer.

Vanessa lowered her eyes, set aside the towel, and picked up the comb, continuing to brush her just-over-shoulder-length black hair.

Suddenly, the comb was forcibly taken away, and Miles’s expression turned displeased. His fingers weaving into Vanessa’s damp hair, forcing her to look at him as he asked again, "You slept with him, right? He must have touched you, didn’t he?"

Vanessa pushed him forcefully, gritting her teeth and coldly replied, "What’s it to you?"

Miles laughed abruptly, a mocking smile on his face, "I know you’re not afraid to die now, that’s why you’re speaking so tough, isn’t it?"

Miles spun the chair Vanessa was sitting on, placing his hands on the armrests, leaning in closer, laughing coldly, "But I’ll make you wish you were dead; in this lifeti, you’ll never see him again."

Vanessa clenched her teeth, glaring at Miles, her hands tightly forming fists.

If at this mont she had a knife, she would unhesitatingly stab it into Miles’s chest...

Seeing Vanessa’s look full of hatred, Miles felt obstructed inside, yet outwardly seed quite pleased at having successfully angered Vanessa, his smile showed a hint of roguishness, pulling at Vanessa’s nightgown collar, he asked, "How many tis did you sleep together?"

Vanessa rely slapped his hand away, refusing to answer Miles’s rude question.

Miles grew increasingly dissatisfied, grabbing Vanessa from the chair and tossing her onto the big bed behind him, "Why pretend? How did you seduce him? Co on, show ."

Vanessa lifted the foot that was less injured and kicked Miles hard in the stomach.

Grunting in pain, Miles furrowed his brow, grabbing Vanessa’s ankle, regardless of her injury, raising it forcefully, and with his other hand, he began pulling at her clothes.

Vanessa reached randomly for a glass vase on the bedside table, using all her strength to smash it into Miles’s head.

In an instant, everything seed to freeze.

Miles’s cold eyes locked onto Vanessa, a line of blood slowly forming on his forehead, quickly dripping down his face onto Vanessa’s white dress.

Vanessa’s hand still held the vase tightly, maintaining a defensive stance, as if one more action from Miles would lead her to smash the vase onto him once more...

Miles’s chest was full of anger, making his breathing more rapid due to his rage.

He released her, forcibly grabbing the vase from Vanessa’s hand and smashing it heavily against the headboard wall...
