Lana Holloway realized what Norman Sutton might be trying to do and was so startled that she imdiately opened her eyes.

What she saw was a big face, possibly less than a centiter away from hers.

Instinctively, she reached out to push Norman Sutton’s face away. Norman frowned, rose, grabbed Lana’s wrist, which still had an IV tube attached, held it in his hand and, with a playful smile, asked, "Awake?"

With a slightly flushed face, Lana pulled her hand out of his grip, turned her head to look out the window, and asked sullenly, "Why are you here?"

Norman sat back down in the chair next to the bed, let out a cold snort, and said, "Who else do you think would care whether you live or die besides ?"

Lana’s expression froze for a mont. Although Norman’s words were harsh, upon careful analysis, they seed to be true.

Every ti she got sick before, she would go to the hospital alone to pick up dicine, and it was common for her to sit by herself at the hospital for an IV treatnt.

Luckily, soone was with her this ti. If it had been at ho, she might have just kept sleeping without anyone noticing.

"Is it this room? Isn’t it too early, wouldn’t it be inappropriate?"

A woman’s coy voice ca from outside, and shortly after, the door to the hospital room was pushed open from the outside.

Lana and Norman both looked towards the door, only to see a girl holding a bouquet of flowers walk in with a smile, glancing at Lana on the hospital bed, then at Norman sitting beside her, and said, "Brother Norman, I heard your sister is sick, so I ca to see her."

Norman: "..."

Lana recognized the girl with the bob cut as one of the won who were with them that night, but she rembered this girl was always close to that man called Faye Xavier. Why was she suddenly so intimate with Norman Sutton?

Lana remained silent, glancing at the girl and then at Norman’s reaction.

Initially, Norman was a bit bewildered too, then recognized her as the girl called Candy that Faye had introduced to him yesterday. He imdiately thought of what Faye had told him the night before.

But Faye only told him to act appropriately, and the issue was how he should act appropriately?

At this mont, he only felt that this woman’s appearance was causing trouble, because just monts ago, the atmosphere was quite good, and now, with this woman here, Norman just felt sothing was off; it definitely wasn’t a good ti.

"How’s your sister feeling?" Candy placed the bouquet on the cabinet beside the hospital bed, and with a familiar deanor, asked Norman.

Norman frowned and asked, "Why are you here?"

Candy stood behind Norman, thoughtfully massaging his shoulders as she said, "I heard you were at the hospital taking care of your sister, so I ca to check on you. You haven’t slept well, have you? Why don’t you go rest first, I’ll stay and look after your sister."

Norman wasn’t comfortable leaving Lana with a woman he knew little about, and he also felt a bit overwheld. He scooted the chair away to distance himself from her slightly and said, "There’s no need for your help here, just leave."

Candy was assigned by Faye to help, so she naturally heard Norman’s words, but she still carried on her act, pretending to be dissatisfied and pouted, "I’ll go back to the hotel to wait for you, then..."

Seeing that her words weren’t quite right, Norman imdiately interrupted Candy, motioning her away with his hand, "Just leave, just leave."

Candy: "Alright, I’ll leave. Sister, you should rest well and get better soon."

Watching Candy leave the hospital room, Norman was still unsettled, and when he turned his head, he noticed Lana’s odd expression.

Her gaze didn’t show jealousy or dissatisfaction; rather, there was a curiosity to see how things would unfold, which made Norman inexplicably uneasy. He hurriedly tried to explain, "That... it’s not what you think, she and I..."

Lana interrupted Norman, speaking calmly, "You don’t have to explain to ."

After hearing that, Norman felt a blockage in his heart, sensing that Lana genuinely didn’t care at all whether he and that girl nad Candy had sothing. He coldly snorted, "True, you’re not mine, after all."

Lana nodded, softly saying, "Yes, but thank you. Sorry for bothering you last night. I owe you one for this. I’m fine now; you can go about your business."

Norman rose from the chair, standing by the window, stared at Lana for a while, seemingly wanting to say many things but unable to voice them. Finally, he said coldly, "Rember to pay back the hospital bill, stay here and I couldn’t be bothered about you."

After speaking, he grabbed the car keys on the bedside cabinet and left the hospital room angrily.

Lana turned her head watching Norman dash out the door, and let out a silent sigh.

Actually, after what happened at the art exhibition, she had properly considered her matters with Norman Sutton.

She even thought about the possibility that Norman was seriously proposing to her, but she felt that there were too many obstacles between them.

Aside from their different statuses, just Norman’s spoiled and demanding nature would make it exhausting to be around him. She feared that even if they got married, Norman would just treat her like a servant.

Moreover, she didn’t believe the novelty that Norman felt could last for long.

She even felt that Norman was simply used to winning, always getting first place, and was unused to the frustration of failing to win her over. After succeeding, he probably wouldn’t cherish her.

Just like those dusty trophies in his ho.

If a happy ending is destined not to be, it’s better not to start.

She also didn’t want to put her heart into it, get used to having soone, only to then try her hardest to forget that person.

After breakfast, everyone ca to visit Lana at the hospital, and after the doctor checked her over, they took Lana and left the hospital together.

Lana noticed that there were many people who ca, but Norman Sutton wasn’t among them.

After lunch at the restaurant, everyone packed their luggage, returned to the RV, and began the journey to the next destination.

On the road, everyone gathered in the entertainnt RV, since Lana wasn’t skilled at card gas or video gas, she stuck with Laura Yates and Vanessa in the screening room, accompanying the children while watching movies.

Norman Sutton paced outside the screening room several tis, but didn’t enter, lacking the mood for arcade gas, sitting distractedly on the window-side sofa, puzzling together with Scott Sutton for a while.

He then realized that such patient-demanding puzzles weren’t suited for him at all.

Faye Xavier seed to notice Norman’s distracted deanor, stood up from the card table, walked over to Norman, and said, "You look distressed, what’s troubling you now? Didn’t I tell you to seek out if you have troubles? Talk to , I’ll help you think of a solution."
