Heath noticed Vanessa hesitating, like she had so reservations, and said, "Don’t worry, I’m not a bad person. You’re good friends with Audrey Sutton, right? She’s my cousin-in-law. Her friends are my friends too, so let’s add each other as friends for easier contact."
Vanessa still politely refused, saying, "I don’t really use social dia tools often, so..."
Heath interrupted Vanessa’s excuse, saying, "Not using it much still ans you use it sotis. At least let have a way to contact you. I like you, but I’m not forcing you to agree. I’m not the type to pressure soone. It’s not like adding as a friend would an I’d constantly bother you or force you to be my girlfriend. I wouldn’t do that."
Vanessa was least skilled at dealing with overly familiar people. She felt the other party was too enthusiastic, and she had no idea how to respond.
Yet Heath kept talking, continuously giving Vanessa psychological reassurance: "We’ve only just t and haven’t seen each other many tis. Asking you to be my girlfriend now would definitely be too rushed, so let’s be friends. If fate brings us together, that’s great, but if not, being friends is still okay. You really don’t need such a big ntal burden. Even if you reject , I won’t bla you. Just follow your heart."
Saying that, Heath pushed the QR code towards Vanessa again: "Co on, scan ."
Having heard all Heath’s talk, Vanessa felt that if she still didn’t agree, she’d seem a bit too unfriendly.
Besides, now that Miles wouldn’t interfere in her affairs anymore, it wouldn’t matter much if she had male contacts.
She should learn to take this step, gradually distancing herself from the influence Miles had on her in the past.
Thinking this, Vanessa lowered her head, took out her phone from her bag, scanned Heath’s QR code, and added him as a friend.
Heath smiled contentedly, imdiately opened Vanessa’s profile and avatar, and after taking a look, praised, "I heard you draw comics; this avatar is self-drawn, right? It’s really cute."
Vanessa awkwardly smiled, not knowing how to respond, as Heath continued, "Can you draw one for too?"
Vanessa pressed her lips, saying, "...I didn’t bring my computer with ."
Heath: "No worries, no hurry. You can draw it when you get ho and have ti. Just look at now and draw so others can recognize it’s ."
Vanessa: "...How about you send a photo? I’ll find it easier to draw based on the picture."
Heath: "Huh? I’m not much into taking photos. I’m not sure if I look good. Why don’t you take a few photos of now?"
At first, Vanessa refused, but in the end, Heath managed to persuade her with his words.
Audrey Sutton ca over with Anna after finishing her al and saw Vanessa photographing Heath with her phone.
She almost thought she was seeing things, puzzled about how these two got to this stage?
Vanessa is introverted and doesn’t interact much with unfamiliar people, especially n.
And Heath’s laid-back personality should definitely irk Vanessa. So why did they seem to be getting along quite well now?
Could Heath have used so flowery language to deceive Vanessa?
Thinking about how Vanessa is sowhat naive, easily fooled by bad boys, Audrey Sutton went over to disrupt the atmosphere and asked Heath, "What are you up to here?"
Heath looked up, saw Audrey Sutton, and imdiately chuckled, always sweet-talking: "Auntie, it’s you! Long ti no see, you’ve gotten prettier."
Audrey Sutton put Anna down on a mat to play with toys and glared at Heath: "Cut the nonsense, what crooked idea are you scheming now?"
Heath: "Auntie, what are you saying? I’m just asking Vanessa to draw an avatar for ."
After hearing this, Audrey Sutton turned to the sowhat embarrassed Vanessa, as if questioning whether Heath’s words were true. Vanessa put away her phone and explained: "Uh... just drawing him an avatar."
Then Audrey Sutton looked at Heath, saying: "Vanessa’s drawing fee isn’t cheap. Make sure you pay her."
Before Heath could answer, Vanessa said: "No need, no need... it’s not a big deal."
Heath grinned, saying: "Talking about money hurts relationships. I’ll treat Vanessa to a al soday."
Audrey Sutton glared at him: "You wish! Your cousin asked for you. He has arranged a place for you to stay."
Having gotten contact details, Heath happily got up and ran to find Shane Warner.
After Heath left, Audrey Sutton reminded Vanessa: "He’s unreliable; don’t fully trust what he says."
Vanessa seed to understand, nodding and saying: "He said he’s a relative of yours."
Audrey Sutton: "He’s my husband’s cousin, very mischievous, always causing trouble outside."
Saying this, Audrey Sutton pointed her chin towards Faye Xavier and Luc, who were playing drinking gas and mingling with the won, and told Vanessa: "They’re the sa as him. They got caught in a honey trap once, and my husband had to bail them out from the police station, so keep an eye out for what he says."
Vanessa nodded in response: "Okay."
She herself wasn’t inclined to easily trust or rely on anyone, but she envied Heath’s sowhat childish and straightforward nature.
She didn’t really like herself as she is now but didn’t know how to change.
She was always trying to blend into her surroundings but always seed awkward in front of others.
Let alone striking up conversations openly, she needed so ti to process what to say when strangers spoke to her.
She always worried about saying sothing wrong, so she mostly chose to listen, rarely joining in discussions unless the topic involved her.
After dinner, Barry Barrett suddenly ntioned that Simon Sue was having a concert nearby and would drop by for so fun. So, a few more tents were set up.
Everyone started teasing Barry Barrett and Simon Sue, while Barry blushed and kept denying.
The main city where the concert was held was still so distance away, about three to four hours by car.
Audrey Sutton was required by Shane Warner to sleep by ten every night. By nine, she was called back to the motorho to wash and prepare for bed.
Laura Yates, Phoebe King, and Flora Lane all returned to their motorhos before ten because they had their children.
Scott Sutton adhered to his "senior routine," always going back to the motorho for a wash after resting for a while post-dinner around seven.
Although Audrey Sutton couldn’t figure out why her fourth brother went back to his room so early when he didn’t sleep that early.
Barry Barrett was yawning away while snacking on seeds by the table, waiting for Simon Sue.
Lana Holloway was accompanying Barry Barrett, chatting away to pass the ti.
anwhile, Faye Xavier and a group of people gathered to play cards, and Seraphina Vaughn, the avid gambler, naturally joined them. These days, Norman Sutton, who was having a spat with Lana Holloway, also joined in the fun.
