Usually, when Audrey Sutton visits a shop like this, any shelf could stop her in her tracks.
But this ti, she scanned upstairs and downstairs within minutes, confird that Shane Warner wasn’t here, and walked out of the shop. Standing on the street, she looked around, guessing where he might have gone.
According to his usual nature, he’s not soone who would stroll around the streets, so how could she guess?
Coming to a store that sells dolls is obviously not his style. Does it an he’s accompanying that girl shopping?
Audrey Sutton guessed based on the girl’s ntality and noticed the street nearby was lined with won’s clothing shops.
If he’s indeed with a girl, he would be lingering in these shops.
The street was bustling with people laughing and chatting, while she alone seed anxiously looking around.
She truly didn’t know what she was doing; even if she found him with the girl, what could she do?
She felt she lacked the courage to confront him and didn’t have the leverage, fearing he might co up with another "leave each other alone."
"I think the black one looks better, but I already have a lot of black clothes at ho."
From a nearby shop, she overheard a girl’s voice saying this.
Audrey Sutton didn’t pay much attention until she heard the girl continue, "Do you think black looks better or red?"
A male voice replied, "About the sa."
The brief three words imdiately caught Audrey’s attention. She raised her head abruptly and saw Shane Warner and that girl walking out of a won’s clothing shop.
While coming down the steps, the girl’s high heels twisted slightly, and Shane quickly reached out to help her.
The girl cursed grumpily, "Damn it, sprained again while out!"
Shane said, "Let’s head back, nothing much to see."
The two gradually walked away, and when their voices faded beyond hearing distance, Audrey stepped out from the shop door next to her, watching from afar as they walked further side by side.
Her vision gradually blurred without her noticing, and taking a deep breath, Audrey quickly raised her hand to wipe away the tears about to fall.
When they got married, she clearly said it was just to appease their families, without interfering in his life.
But she never thought what if he t a girl he liked during the marriage; does she have to leave quietly?
Yet, she couldn’t bring herself to leave.
Just like she now felt wronged but didn’t dare rush and confront him, humbly wanting to maintain this lingering marriage.
She didn’t continue following them, sitting on a bench by the street processing her emotions alone.
She didn’t dare complain to anyone because she always pretended to have a harmonious relationship with Shane Warner in front of others, never saying a word against him.
She even assud he too slowly started blending into this marriage.
Only now did she realize his kindness wasn’t exclusively hers, as he was equally considerate and gentle to other girls.
Alone, she was the only one stupid enough to take it all seriously.
She didn’t know how long she sat in the breeze, her stomach growling empty and her stomach started feeling uncomfortable.

Her phone rang, Audrey fumbled for the ringing phone, glanced at the flashing "Shane" character, and her eyes couldn’t help but grow teary again.
She couldn’t control her emotions now, so she didn’t dare answer his call, nor did she hang up, just letting the ringtone drone on as the lyrics seed to mirror her feelings, making her even more upset.
Shane Warner called twice, and she ignored them, watching the vibrating phone as her tears fell more intensely, her emotions starting to spiral out of control.
She felt very anxious, not knowing what to do, even more, unsure of how to interact with him.
She couldn’t tear down the facade, nor could she pretend nothing happened, as if it was so difficult.
Her greatest regret now was having co here. Had she not co, she wouldn’t have seen this firsthand, allowing herself to live in denial without this overwhelming sadness...
Shane Warner looked at the few texts he sent her, but she normally replied instantly; now there was no response at all.
After two failed calls, he grew increasingly worried.
He checked her family group chat; there was no ssage revealing she was going ho today.
Without contacts for her dorm mates, Shane Warner resorted to calling Laura Yates.
Laura Yates drove to Audrey Sutton’s school, then called Shane Warner back, "Her roommate said she wasn’t there, left early, and claid she went to find you."
"Find ?" Shane Warner frowned, "What ti did she co?"
"Seems like it was the morning train ticket. She should’ve arrived long ago, could sothing have happened on the way?"
Shane Warner recalled she ssaged him around seven.
But if she ca this morning, why didn’t she co to find him?
Not even telling him she was coming.
Shane Warner reviewed their chat history from today and noticed the anomaly.
Today she strangely cared about his whereabouts, asking intentionally or unintentionally who he was with.
She must’ve seen sothing and misunderstood, letting her imagination run wild is that girl’s forte.
Shane Warner had already bathed, dressed in pajamas waiting for Audrey Sutton’s reply, imdiately got up, changed clothes, grabbed the car keys, and went out.
Before heading downstairs, he knocked on Faye Xavier’s room, but a scantily clad girl opened the door, muttering upon seeing Shane Warner, "What? You didn’t ntion three people earlier. Adding soone costs extra."
Shane Warner frowned, stepped aside avoiding the woman, and directly walked into the room, pushing the bathroom door open where Faye Xavier was sitting on the toilet.
"...Master Shane?!" Faye Xavier hastily grabbed a towel to cover himself.
Shane Warner asked him, "Has your sister-in-law contacted you?"
Faye Xavier seed puzzled, seriously thought for a mont and said, "...Yes, called this morning asking for the hotel address, saying you asked her to mail sothing?"
Shane Warner confird his inner suspicions, went downstairs to the hotel front desk, asked about her, and indeed found she checked into this hotel, but she wasn’t in her room.
She never ca to this city before, didn’t have friends nearby, where could she go so late?
Sitting in the car, Shane Warner called her again, she hung up this ti.
Imdiately, a WhatsApp ssage popped up with her new ssage: Is there sothing wrong? My roommates are all asleep, inconvenient to take the call.
It’s actually because she was crying too hard to speak clearly, picking up the phone would expose her emotions, so she dared not answer.
Seeing her reply, Shane Warner felt a dull ache in his heart; had Laura Yates not visited her school, he might’ve really bought her excuse.

Noticing the live location he sent, Audrey Sutton paused, reluctant to click it open.
