Early the next day, just before six in the morning, Seraphina Vaughn awoke from her dream with a start.

The dream wasn’t particularly horrifying, but a baby suddenly called her mom, and it scared her wide awake.

She sat up in bed, calming her heart for quite a while.

She felt this wasn’t a good on.

Although she was sowhat sleep-deprived, Seraphina didn’t have the mind to lie back down and continue sleeping. She just wanted to quickly resolve the situation; if the test did confirm she was pregnant, she’d imdiately have the procedure done at the hospital, lest complications arise later.

Because of this issue, she hadn’t been sleeping well for the past few days; cutting swiftly was the best solution.

Seraphina gathered her spirits, flipped the blanket off, climbed out of bed, washed up, changed clothes, and then left to go directly to the hospital.

Who knew, as she walked towards the elevator, she’d find Julian Bishop still waiting for it.

He was already dressed in a suit, looking like he had been awake for quite so ti.

At this hour, most hotel guests were still resting; besides him and her, there was no one else on this floor.

Julian Bishop noticed Seraphina Vaughn approaching, seemingly hesitating whether or not to greet her.

But Seraphina directly pretended not to see Julian, and went to wait by another elevator.

Seraphina stood casually to the side, yet couldn’t help but wonder, where this man was heading so early? Could he have discovered sothing?

Both had been quite drunk that night, and so many days had passed; from Julian’s behavior, it was evident he didn’t know who the woman from that night was, and naturally had no reason to suspect anything at this juncture.

While mulling over it in her head, the elevator door in front of Julian opened first, and as he prepared to step inside, he couldn’t help but graciously say to Seraphina, "This one’s here."

Seraphina crossed her arms and turned slightly to the side, ignoring Julian.

Julian didn’t say more, and stepped into the elevator.

After hearing the elevator doors close, Seraphina turned to look, watching the floor numbers gradually descend.

After waiting for about another minute or so, the elevator on her side finally reached her floor.

As she went downstairs, she glanced towards the direction of the first-floor restaurant through the glass wall.

Since there weren’t many people dining in the restaurant, Seraphina imdiately spotted Julian Bishop sitting by the glass wall.

Julian was partially facing her side, and perhaps noticing Seraphina’s gaze, he turned to look in her direction.

In the instant their eyes t, Seraphina imdiately looked elsewhere, secretly breathing a sigh of relief.

So he was just going down for breakfast, huh? Just now she’d been in the elevator overthinking things, worrying Julian had discovered sothing.

She definitely didn’t want to cause unnecessary trouble right now.

Julian was up early because he had a video conference later, so he planned to have breakfast early in preparation.

Though he didn’t particularly understand Seraphina, their interactions in the past few days made him think of her as a carefree, playful, wealthy young lady who stayed up all night and usually slept until noon.

He glanced down at his watch; it was just past six o’clock, and the sky outside wasn’t completely bright yet.

Through the glass near the street, Julian saw Seraphina walk to the roadside, and after a short wait, hailed a taxi.

Where could she be going by herself so early?

Julian thought, if it weren’t for him getting up early today for his eting, no one might even know Seraphina left this morning.

It seed like Seraphina deliberately chose this ti to avoid everyone’s attention, not wanting anyone to know she was going out.

Such sneaking around was certainly unusual; could she have t so shady person, being led astray?

But the girl usually seed quite bright, so she shouldn’t be that easily deceived.

However...

Never mind, he’d better not ddle in others’ business; Seraphina already quite disliked him, and fretting unnecessarily would probably just make her dislike him more.

The hospital.

There were quite a few people already lining up for registration at this hour, much to Seraphina’s surprise; she thought she’d arrived early enough, but found many ahead of her.

She had to wait until eight o’clock when the doctors started work; after getting her number, she sat down on a chair to wait.

Normally she could sleep until two or three in the afternoon without feeling hungry, but now she clearly felt the hunger.

But because she had to be fasting for the test, Seraphina had to endure it.

Observing her surroundings, she mostly saw pregnant mothers waiting for their exams; so heavily pregnant, others not so visibly, but they all had their husbands accompanying them.

So were expecting their second child, with husbands holding a toddler while the mother carried a belly, about to have a sibling.

Seraphina suddenly realized that while she disliked being tied down by marriage and was repulsed by Julian, she didn’t dislike children.

Initially, when Audrey Sutton and Flora Lane had their babies, she felt children were too troubleso; she could barely play with them when they weren’t crying or fussing, but didn’t want to care for them once they did.

But gradually her feelings seed to change; now every ti she saw those little tots, she couldn’t resist wanting to pinch them.

Before, she had considered that she wouldn’t marry, but could have a child through artificial insemination.

Could this now be considered heaven fulfilling her dream?

However, thinking about the child’s father left her feeling uncomfortable, the idea of enduring the hardship of pregnancy for nine months to have his child made her reluctant.

After the doctors started work, she waited for about another hour in line until almost nine o’clock to be called.

The tests were similar to those from yesterday; being familiar with the procedure made it seem rather quick, and the hospital inford her she would receive a text notice in the afternoon to co and collect the results.

Feeling hungry, Seraphina didn’t plan on waiting at the hospital; after her exam, she imdiately found a nearby noodle shop, confidently ordered three servings, yet barely finished half, feeling full.

Audrey Sutton woke up past nine, intending to ask if Seraphina was feeling better, and after knocking on her door for a while without response, she called Seraphina. "Where did you run off to so early?"

Seraphina’s excuse was spontaneous: "Ran out to eat because I was hungry, just finished and heading back now. Where are we going to play today?"

Audrey Sutton: "I just woke up; co back first so we can plan."

Seraphina thought for a mont and asked, "Is everyone at the hotel?"

Audrey Sutton: "I’m not sure about others, but I think my husband is in Mr. Bishop’s room having a eting. Either way, let’s just go out and have fun ourselves."

Seraphina replied thoughtfully, "Oh... okay, I’m heading back now."

She initially felt anxious Julian would discover this, but it seed Julian really didn’t know anything.

Yet Seraphina considered another possibility—that Julian could be a player, playing dumb to avoid responsibility.

He and Faye Xavier and Luc were all quite good friends; maybe he was just like those two players, all scoundrels!
