As soon as Norman Sutton heard Lana Holloway’s voice, his knees went weak, and all his previous arrogance vanished. With a cheeky grin, he said to Lana, "Lana, didn’t you say you had plans for today? Why are you back so early?"
"I finished my part and ca back. What were you guys talking about? What photos?"
"What photos? You misheard, let’s go, I’ll take you for a drive." Norman Sutton grabbed Lana Holloway’s arm, took the car keys, and headed for the door.
Audrey Sutton and her group were sitting nearby, enjoying the show. Phoebe King, always one for stirring the pot, chid in, "Who was just saying Lana dares not go west if told to go east?"
Barry Barrett: "Yeah, yeah, what’s with the sudden cowardice?"
Norman Sutton quickly explained to Lana, "Lana, don’t listen to their nonsense. Not a single one of them is up to any good!"
Lana Holloway gently brushed off Norman Sutton’s hand and said with a smile that hid daggers, "How are they talking nonsense? I heard it with my own ears about so photos. Even if I see them myself, I wouldn’t dare make a sound. So why not just show ?"
Phoebe King waved Audrey Sutton’s phone, "Here, here, Lana, co have a look, it’s quite thrilling!"
Before Lana could move, Norman Sutton lunged to grab the phone.
But before he could get it, he was scolded by Samuel Sutton, who had just co down the stairs, "You brat, causing trouble all day long!"
Norman Sutton complained unhappily, "Dad, it’s clearly them bullying !"
"I clearly saw you trying to snatch your sister’s things! And you still want to marry Lana like that? Can’t you learn to be a bit more mature and steady like your brothers?"
Frustrated, Norman Sutton gritted his teeth and quietly threatened Audrey Sutton, "If you dare send those photos to Lana, I’ll find a chance to deal with your son later!"
Audrey Sutton turned her head and complained to Samuel Sutton, "Dad, he also said he’d bully your grandson!"
"He dares?! Doesn’t want to stay in this house anymore!"
Audrey Sutton smiled triumphantly at Norman Sutton, who walked away aggrieved, grumbling that he was going to find Anna to vent his anger.
But actually, when he faced Anna, Norman Sutton, as an uncle, couldn’t bear to really give Anna a hard ti.
Norman Sutton was rather childish, and when not competing, he mostly idled at ho as the leader among the children, who were all quite close to him.
Of course, Audrey Sutton was just teasing Norman Sutton; she would never actually send those fabricated photos to Lana Holloway.
They claim they don’t want Lana to marry such an unreliable guy like Norman Sutton, but deep down, they were all hoping to attend their wedding sooner than later.
Norman Sutton’s once awkward rich-kid deanor had been mostly changed by Lana.
Occasionally, he would still blurt out things that earned him scoldings, but as long as Lana was nearby to say sothing, he would imdiately rein it in.
Around five in the afternoon, Audrey Sutton noticed it was already the end of the workday, and there was still no sign from Shane Warner.
She started to worry that he might be too busy with work and had really forgotten her birthday.
As the sky darkened, Norman Sutton kept jabbering next to her about booking a riverside barbecue stall.
At nearly six, Audrey Sutton finally received a ssage from Shane Warner, giving her an address and telling everyone to head there.
A few cars set off one by one, and twenty minutes later, they arrived at the address Shane had given.
"What kind of place is this?" Norman Sutton started complaining before even getting out of the car.
