Gwen’s sudden concession caught Miles Sterling by surprise.
He looked at Gwen skeptically as she took the signed divorce agreent from her bag and placed it on the edge of the table.
Miles Sterling reached out and picked up the docunt, scanning through it briefly.
Afraid that it was just a trap set by Gwen.
Gwen stood beside Miles Sterling, speaking softly, "I have nothing left now, and I don’t want to fight for anything anymore, anyway..."
Miles Sterling caught a glimpse of a cold gleam out of the corner of his eye, and when he turned, he saw a sharp dagger...
With a nacing expression, Gwen gripped the dagger with both hands and lunged at Miles Sterling, shouting, "It’s you who have driven to a dead end! You all die with !"
Miles Sterling tily dodged to avoid a fatal blow, the knife landing on his arm.
"You’re crazy!" Miles Sterling, enduring the pain, grabbed Gwen’s hand holding the knife with his other hand.
Just then, the secretary ca with docunts, opened the door, and was montarily stunned by the scene at the doorway.
Miles Sterling yelled at the secretary, "Call the police!"
Seeing this, Gwen pushed Miles Sterling away with force, crazily crashing against the secretary by the door and running outside...
Miles Sterling clutched his arm, and the secretary, seeing the blood dripped onto the ground, fearfully approached to ask, "Are you okay, Young Master Sterling?"
"Quickly notify security, don’t let her escape!"
By the ti the security staff got the ssage, Gwen had already reached the underground garage and escaped by car.
Quentin Sterling, after receiving the news, imdiately ended his eting and saw Miles Sterling’s left sleeve stained red with blood.
"Get up, I’ll take you to the hospital."
Miles Sterling hurriedly said, "I’m fine; I’ve already called ergency services. Uncle, quickly report to the police; don’t let Gwen escape, she’s likely to go after Vanessa!"
"Where’s Vanessa?"
"Grayhaven."
Quentin Sterling analyzed, "Driving there would take three or four hours, just call Vanessa and tell her to be careful, no need to worry for the mont."
Miles Sterling, however, anxiously said, "Vanessa’s phone won’t connect; we have to notify the local police."
Quentin Sterling stood up, "Then I’ll head to the police station now."
He instructed his assistant beside him, "Accompany Young Master to the hospital, take good care of him."
On the way, Quentin Sterling also called Vanessa Sterling twice; the phone rang, but no one answered.
Grayhaven.
Vanessa Sterling set up her easel at the deserted seaside, leaving her phone at ho without noticing.
Since there aren’t many people looking for her normally, she becos oblivious when engrossed in painting.
Before hitting the highway, Gwen swapped cars; the police provided information on the vehicle Gwen drove out of the underground garage.
So the police at the highway entrances along the Grayhaven route did not see the appearance of the target vehicle.
Miles Sterling’s wound required several stitches, but after being bandaged, he imdiately headed to the train station and bought a ticket for the high-speed train to Grayhaven.
Taking the train would take just over an hour; hopefully, he could reach there before Gwen does.
Throughout the journey, Miles Sterling kept trying to call and text Vanessa Sterling, but he couldn’t reach her at any ti.
The innkeeper said he went out today and wasn’t in Grayhaven.
A little after one in the afternoon, hunger prompted Vanessa Sterling to pack up her painting supplies and return to the inn.
Upon returning to her room to put away her easel and just before going downstairs to eat, she heard her phone ringing under the covers when she was at the door.
Vanessa Sterling then realized she hadn’t taken her phone when she went out; as she was turning to grab it, there was a knock at the door...
