In the early hours, nurses kept going in and out of the surgery room, delivering blood bags several tis.
Miles Sterling waited outside the surgery room, looking sowhat disheveled and lost.
Quentin Sterling returned to the surgery room entrance with the paynt slip, and patting Miles lightly on the shoulder, he said, "Why don’t you take a rest, I’ll wait here."
Miles shook his head, "I want to wait for Vanessa to co out, she’s going to be okay, right?"
Quentin took a breath and changed the subject, "Gwen Grant’s parents have arrived, do you want to et them?"
"There’s nothing to see."
Miles was sowhat evasive at this mont, uncertain if he had done sothing wrong to lead to this outco.
But regardless, the matter did indeed start because of him.
Vanessa is kind-hearted, and Gwen’s miscarriage probably made Vanessa feel so degree of self-reproach.
Miles paused and said, "About Gwen’s passing, don’t let the dia report it. Her parents love money, just pay them off. When Vanessa wakes up, I don’t plan to tell her about any of this either."
Quentin nodded, "I understand. Don’t burden yourself too much psychologically, you never wanted things to turn out like this."
Miles took a deep breath, looking up towards the surgery room.
He didn’t want to figure out right and wrong now, he just hoped Vanessa would be okay.
After three in the morning, the doctor finally ca out of the operating room.
"The surgery was sowhat successful, but the patient is not entirely out of danger yet. She’ll be directly moved to the intensive care unit soon, and you don’t need to wait here. Go get so rest; if there are any developnts, the hospital will notify you by phone."
Miles imdiately asked, "Can I see her now?"
The doctor shook his head, "If there’s no change overnight, you can arrange to see her in the morning."
Miles asked, "How long until her condition stabilizes?"
"We need to wait until she wakes up to assess her feedback; if she gets through today, generally there won’t be major issues."
After Quentin thanked the doctor, he pulled Miles along, saying, "Let’s find a hotel to rest for a bit. If you wear yourself out too, who will take care of Vanessa?"
"Second Uncle... Do you think I shouldn’t get close to Vanessa anymore? The troubles she faces seem to all co from ."
Quentin paused, giving Miles’ shoulder a gentle pat, saying, "Don’t take all responsibility onto yourself. In this matter, neither you nor Vanessa are at fault. So people just bring it upon themselves."
Like the person he once loved wholeheartedly.
After Clarissa Morgan went to prison, he also reflected on whether he bore so responsibility for her ending up that way.
But looking back in detail, he never did anything post-marriage to wrong Clarissa.
If only Clarissa could let go of those fixations, she’d completely avoid taking that path.
Gwen is likewise now, as was Miles before...
Perhaps this episode of amnesia is a blessing in disguise for Miles; even if he regains his mories, I hope he handles things between himself and Vanessa with his current mindset.
Knowing when to let go rather than pursuing what he wants by any ans necessary.
This way, neither he nor Vanessa will walk such a forbidden path.
Quentin drove Miles to a nearby hotel and noticed his absentmindedness throughout the ride.
Upon getting out, Quentin said to Miles, "Wilder, just rember, loving soone involves seeing what they want, not what you want to give."
