Now reading: Chapter 345 is self-inflicted from Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return, a Romance novel by White Day.

"Young Master Mu, it’s truly regrettable that we can’t share drinks and rry talks this ti. Next ti, I will specifically co to Heishi City to visit you all," Yan Yuchu said, which of course ant he was asking for Mu Hanyan’s help with the purification of his Qi.

Unfortunately, others misunderstood again. Mu Hanyan and his companions staggered and ran even faster.

"Lord City Master, I will go and see them off," said the guard, darting out too. He was afraid—afraid that the Lord City Master might take a fancy to him by accident.

"Why are they running so fast? Why has everyone beco so strange?" Lord Yan was utterly puzzled when he saw even his own subordinates fleeing in such a panic, resting his chin in his hand in total bewildernt.

On the way back, the procession included an additional carriage, naturally prepared for Mu Ze.

Suffering from both physical and emotional tornt, Mu Ze sat in the carriage with his face swollen like a pig’s head, staring out the window at the rapidly passing green mountains and waters, his vision full of desolation.

Since childhood, he had been more mature than his peers, deliberately mimicking the manners of his elders, thus establishing no small amount of prestige among his contemporaries.

He had always thought that with his prestige, even if he could not aspire to the position of Family Head, taking control as an elder would be no problem. But it was not until this visit to Xiushui City that he realized just how far he fell short.

Let alone compared to Yan Yuchu, even when compared with that so-called good-for-nothing playboy Mu Hanyan, he was like a child in his naivety. Reflecting on his own frantic and foolish behavior, he even found himself laughable. Who was Yan Yuchu? Even if he was of similar age, he was already a City Lord. How could he be so easily manipulated by him?

This beating was truly a case of reaping what one has sown. Yet, thinking this, he still felt sowhat indignant.

Why did Yan Yuchu treat Mu Hanyan so amiably while not giving him any face at all? Compared to that notorious playboy, was I really that much worse?

"There’s a tea house ahead; let’s take a break," Mu Nan’s voice ca from ahead.

At that mont, it was nearing noon. Everyone had been rushing through the night, already sowhat tired; the blazing sun made them feel even more listless.

"Let’s rest for a bit then," Mu Hanyan said.

The group tethered their horses and sward into the tea house. Yet, Mu Ze didn’t co down—not because his injuries were too serious, but because he was too ashad to face everyone.

Walking at the rear, Mu Hanyan paused as he passed the carriage, suddenly producing an Elixir and handing it to Mu Ze. "This Qi Transformation Pill can integrate the primal energy and supplent Qi. It’s not only beneficial for improving cultivation, but also quite effective for healing wounds." Mu Ze was not a truly vicious person; he rely lacked a certain vigor which could be changed. Mu Hanyan had not given up on Mu Ze.

"Oh," Mu Ze instinctively accepted it, then paused in shock.

"Quickly take it and then co have so refreshnts with us; you can’t stay hungry all the ti," Mu Hanyan said and then quickened his pace to catch up with Mu Nan and the others.

His voice wasn’t deliberately friendly, nor was there any rejection or coldness. It was very neutral, just like the normal interaction between kin brothers.

Holding the Elixir in his hand, Mu Ze felt a rush of inexplicable sha.

Because his recent actions had been so disappointing, even those who used to respect him as an older brother, such as Mu Yuying and Mu Xitian, kept their distance, and yet, Mu Hanyan acted as if nothing had happened, showing no hint of hatred or rejection; he even gave him a Qi Transformation Pill, which made Mu Yuying and the others envious.

Although reluctant to admit it, Mu Ze had no choice but to acknowledge that in terms of magnanimity and spirit, he really couldn’t compare with Mu Hanyan.
