The Mu Family was now led by Mu Rui’an, and the other three elders couldn’t ddle with this matter. Leaving such astute and capable confidants in the Treasure Vault was indeed more useful than placing them elsewhere.
"But I haven’t even been there," Mu Feng understood, but still felt a bit aggrieved in his heart.
"You think going there is a good thing? Without sufficient strength, going there would be futile, and it could even be dangerous," the Great Elder said leisurely.
"What?" Mu Feng didn’t understand and looked at him puzzled.
"I can hide the other Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures, but that strange treasure, I can’t find it, nor can I hide it. It wouldn’t have been snatched up by that brat, would it?" Just then, Housekeeper Geng said, worried.
"Hmph, do you think that’s possible? Generations of our Mu Family’s descendants have been searching tirelessly for thousands of years. Even I have looked hundreds of tis without success. If I hadn’t been seriously injured just when I was about to find it and had to return empty-handed, I would have even started to doubt whether the legend was true or not. Mu Hanyan is entering for the first ti, how could he possibly be that lucky?" the Great Elder said, dismissive of the notion.
"That’s true," reassured by his words, Housekeeper Geng felt he had been overly worried.
"Grandfather, what exactly are you talking about?" Mu Feng was even more confused, but he vaguely sensed that there must be so incredible secrets hidden within the Treasure Vault.
"Don’t ask too many questions for now. When it’s ti for you to know, you will naturally understand."
In the distance, atop the tower of the City Lord’s Mansion, Mu Rui’an looked towards the lonely silhouette of the Treasure Vault, a faint smile flickering across his lips, his eyes reflecting a mixture of concern and, more so, anticipation.

Mu Hanyan walked past the rows of shelves in the Treasure Vault, her expression growing more and more disappointed.
Cultivation thods, swordsmanship, Elixir and Strange Herbs, blades and weapons—the Treasure Vault seemingly had everything one could wish for, likely to make any average cultivator’s heart leap with excitent.
But Mu Hanyan was not at all thrilled; the Cultivation thods were all incomplete, not a single one was intact. The quality of the Elixir and Strange Herbs was either low or had diminished due to being stored for too long, and as for her current self, they were utterly useless. Regarding swords and the like, each was more ancient than the last. They would undoubtedly fetch a high price as antiques, but none were fit for actual use.
Mu Hanyan lifted her head to gaze at the large Luminous Pearls on the wall. It had to be said that the Mu Family of Heishi City was indeed wealthy; the value of these Luminous Pearls alone was substantial. If sold, they would probably fetch even more.
The Great Elder had said, take whatever you like, so perhaps she should just pry off a few Luminous Pearls and sell them.
Of course, this thought was fleeting and she imdiately dismissed it from her mind. What a joke, to enter the Treasure Vault just once and to pry off Luminous Pearls to sell? If word got out, wouldn’t she be the laughingstock?
More importantly, Lady Mu was not short of money. She had recently received a generous gift from Fourth Miss Zhao—a Griffin that sold for several hundred thousand. Counting the ti, the final paynt should be arriving soon. She was now a little rich lady with a few hundred thousand in assets; did she need those few coins?
Even with just her intuition, Mu Hanyan could tell that the good stuff must have been hidden away by the Great Elder, who had no intention of letting her gain any advantage.
