Now reading: Chapter 41 The invisible suppression by the three elders from Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return, a Romance novel by White Day.

As soon as the Third Elder finished speaking, he suddenly felt that sothing was amiss and quickly exchanged glances with the Great Elder and the Second Elder. It seed that Mu Hanyan had indeed made a rit for the family. No, it wasn’t just seeming; it was a fact. No, they couldn’t say this outright. That playboy, always idle and using up the family’s resources, and now he had made a rit—what if they had to reward him? Reward him? No, absolutely not! That would be a total waste!

At that mont, the three elders exchanged looks and tacitly decided on one thing. They mustn’t ntion Mu Hanyan’s rit at all.

"However, how did Hanyan co to know about such a secretive place of the Zhou Family?" the Great Elder cleared his throat and asked with a hint of suspicion.

"Alas, everyone knows that Hanyan likes to wander around idly when he has nothing to do. It must have been a fluke," the Second Elder provided what seed like a reasonable explanation. Yet the underlying ssage was clear: Mu Hanyan was a good-for-nothing playboy who did nothing all day, and this was nothing but dumb luck. He must have been squandering his ti and money at so tavern, and sohow stumbled upon the Exotic Beasts kept by the Zhou Family.

"Right, it’s also good luck, our Mu Family should definitely increase our vigilance," the Third Elder said, stroking his beard with utmost seriousness.

Mu Rui An glanced at the performance of the three elders and did not say much, just nodding indifferently: "Now that we know, we’ll be more cautious in the future."

Seeing Mu Rui An’s response, the three elders breathed a sigh of relief. It was a good thing that Mu Rui An hadn’t considered giving credit to that useless playboy. What a disaster that would have been!

Mu Rui An stood up, his tone still indifferent: "Then let it be. Pay more attention to any movents from those noble families of the Zhou Family from now on." Having said that, Mu Rui An left the room.

The three elders exchanged another look, their eyes revealing a mix of relief and triumph at their successful sche.

But did Mu Rui An truly not know the calculations in the minds of those three?

...

At this ti, Mu Hanyan was sitting in his courtyard, sipping tea: "Xixi, your tea-making skills are still as good as ever," Mu Hanyan said, nodding and shaking his head.

Xixi laughed out loud: "My Young Master, the way you say it is as if you haven’t had tea made by for a long ti, yet you clearly drink it every day."

Mu Hanyan just smiled and said nothing. Of course, it had been a very long ti since he had tasted tea made by Xixi, far too long. But of course, this was sothing that couldn’t be ntioned.

Just then, a servant ca to report to Mu Hanyan that outside the City Lord’s Mansion, the Young Lady of the Yi Family, Yi Qinglian, had co to see him.

Upon hearing this na, Mu Hanyan was montarily stunned.

Qinglian, Qinglian...

Could he really be seeing her again now?

"Hurry and let her in. No, wait, I’ll go out to et her myself." Mu Hanyan stood up and rushed outside in a hurry.

Watching Mu Hanyan’s hurried departure, Xixi covered her mouth and chuckled. The Young Master had the nerve to tease her and her cousin, yet look at himself! The mont he heard it was Lady Yi, he beca so flustered. She didn’t believe for a second that there was nothing between them. Lady Yi was kind and adorable, and most importantly, she genuinely cared for the Young Master. Regardless of how he was labeled as a decadent playboy or a good-for-nothing by others, Lady Yi remained steadfast and determined to be friends with the Young Master.

Xixi was convinced it wasn’t just a simple friendship. Certainly, Lady Yi, with her discernnt, recognized the Young Master’s worth and had a special fondness for him! Xixi firmly believed this in her heart.

If Mu Hanyan knew what she was thinking, he’d certainly have to knock so sense into her head. What nonsense!
