"Grandfather, have you also heard this phrase?" After a while, Mu Hanyan asked Mu Beichen.
"I have not had such an opportunity," Mu Beichen shook his head and said. "This phrase is a secret passed down since ancient tis within our Mu Family, handed down over nearly a million years."
"Nearly a million years!" Mu Hanyan looked at her grandfather in shock.
She had always thought that the history of the Mu Family lasted, at most, a few tens of thousands of years or perhaps a couple of hundred thousand years, but she had never imagined that the Mu Family had a history nearing a million years.
However, Mu Hanyan knew that everything her grandfather was about to say would resolve all the doubts in her heart, so she didn’t rush to dig deeper but instead waited for her grandfather to continue slowly.
"People only know that our Mu Family has a long history and profound heritage, but they do not know how long exactly; perhaps tens of thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands of years, but they would never think that our ancestors in the Mu Family, almost a million years ago, were already renowned across the Continent."
"I heard from the secret ssage your father sent, and I know about your situation," Mu Beichen continued with a solemn expression. "The grudges between the Holy Court Continent and the Demon Continent, also known as the Divine Continent as claid by the people in the temple, are no secret. What I’m about to tell you now is your true lineage and bloodline." Mu Hanyan nodded, suppressing the excitent in her heart and listened quietly.
"Nearly a million years ago, before the Holy Court Continent and the Demon Continent had separated, it was known as the Holy Continent. Various tribes fought endlessly to seize the limited cultivation resources, forming two grand alliances eventually: one was the Holy Court, the other was the temple.
The powerful of those tis were much stronger than today, and the top warriors of the Holy Court and the temple were far stronger than ordinary fighters, possessing earth-shaking might with simple gestures. But Han Yan had seen that stone tablet, her mind lding into it, as if experiencing first-hand the terrifying majesty of the Earth cracking and volcanoes erupting, feeling the despair and helplessness in those cries and howls, and even the solemn sacredness when those peerless powerhouses appeared, before whom all things trembled.
She knew that everything her grandfather said was true.
"That’s right, what you just witnessed were those peerless powerhouses—Divine Martial Guardians, possessing Divine Power granted by the gods. When Divine Martial descends, they span heaven and earth," Mu Beichen said proudly, lifting his head.
"Our Mu Family ancestor was one of the Divine Martial Guardians!" Although she had already guessed so of it, hearing Mu Beichen say it still left Han Yan profoundly shocked.
So, the Mu Family had such a background, and her ancestors were so powerful!
Why did she hear that mysterious voice in her mind after obtaining the Heavenly Destiny Star Plate, and why did she suddenly comprehend the Divine Language? Now, everything had an answer.
Amid her excitent, Han Yan suddenly thought of a question. Since she was a descendant of the Divine Martial Guardians, why would the temple send assassins, why would her grandfather have them flee to Heishi City, disguising themselves and hiding their true identities? Our Mu ancestors and the other Guardians of the Gods possessed such imnse power, so why did they choose to divide the Continent, allowing the Holy Court and the temple to recuperate separately, instead of making them reconcile and live in peace?"
"Why?" Han Yan imdiately asked.
"Because even among the Guardians of the Gods, there were disagreents—so supported the Holy Court, others the temple. The fragntation of the Continent can be seen as a result of their compromises, and also as the dire consequence of their battle against each other.
Originally, they only established a Seal to temporarily separate the Holy Court from the temple, ending the intertribal war that had lasted for ten thousand years and brought untold suffering. However, the real reason behind the fragntation of the Continent was the battle among the Guardians of the Gods themselves.
Our Mu ancestor and the other Guardians of the Gods all died in that unknown battle, destroyed together, and the Holy Continent shattered into countless pieces. Perhaps it was also their fate; their power was too overwhelming to be sustained by the Holy Continent," Mu Beichen said slowly.
"Our Mu ancestor was a Guardian of the Gods on the side of the Holy Court. The Divine Bloodline has been passed down from generation to generation, growing ever weaker, but once the Bloodline is awakened, they would inherit the Divine Seal embedded deep within their bloodlines and possess the power of Gods.
How could the temple possibly tolerate the reappearance of a Holy Court’s Descendant of God in this world?
Over these hundreds of thousands of years, countless descendants of the Mu Family have died unnatural deaths. "Does the temple really have such great power in the Holy Court Continent?" Han Yan asked in surprise.

Anyone the temple entrusts with such a critical mission to infiltrate the Holy Court Continent is a Holy-grade expert or above.
