Kareth Zul's massive body faltered ever so slightly.
His movents suddenly felt sluggish and slow as though sothing was constantly pressing him down...
The creature frowned.
'Another type of skill…?'
The sensation was subtle at first... barely noticeable—
But within seconds, he felt it increase!
His limbs slowed, spellcasting beca slightly more delayed, as if the air itself were growing thicker.
Kareth Zul's mind raced.
How could a re Stone-Rank wield such a variety of skills?
And not just random abilities... these were incompatible with each other, skills that didn't belong on a single category!
It made no sense.
But instead of fear, sothing else stirred in him.
Greed...
He needed to know who Adam really was.
But Adam wasn't waiting for a counterattack.
In a smooth motion, a crimson-red crown materialized above his head, glowing dimly with oppressive energy.
His eyes darkened, gaze locked firmly onto Kareth Zul.
"Repent."
He said coldly.
The mont the word left his mouth, Kareth Zul's body began to tear.
Thin, precise wounds appeared, seemingly from nowhere...
On his head, back, and across his torso.
Blood leaked from fresh gashes, dripping in rhythmic trails.
Kareth Zul hissed. His head jerked around, trying to identify the source, but there was nothing...
No weapons... nor were there any traces of magic...
Just damage...
And Adam's unwavering gaze.
'What is this…?'
Adam, watching carefully, took ntal note of the reaction.
'He's weak toward magic that applies effects directly to the body…?'
Adam wasn't the only one who caught on to this...

Adam scanned through the gifts in quick succession, ntally filing away which spell to use first.
His fingers twitched slightly as if itching to act.
There wasn't ti to appreciate the generosity... only to act on it.
But just as he selected Shatter, the forest reacted.
The trees twisted unnaturally...
Branches creaking like old bones... and then they lunged towards Adam!
Roots and trunks bent and coiled toward him like snakes hunting prey!
Adam's instincts kicked in.
With a flash of crimson light, he activated [Crimson Dominion], propelling himself upward.
Leaves and twigs scattered as he soared through the canopy.
At the sa ti, his hand swept across the air.
[Surreal Creation] burst forth, scattering illusionary copies of himself mid-flight, each taking a different trajectory to confuse the seemingly alive forest!
Below him, the illusions flickered and darted through the forest.
The trees hesitated... then tore into the clones indiscriminately.
Adam didn't let the opportunity go to waste.
He raised a hand, focusing.
"Sha—"
Shrrk!
Pain pierced through his shoulder!
A thick root had shot up from beneath, stabbing clean through his flesh.
'Tch... fuck...'
He hissed, gritting his teeth.
One of the illusion clones nearby flickered violently then dispersed.
All of his illusions were being attacked!
Kareth Zul had apparently decided to strike them all at once instead of trying to guess which was real!
Adam silently cursed, he looked towards the illusion clones of himself that were being dispelled right after being attacked.
No ti to think.
Without hesitation, Adam sharpened a sliver of blood in his palm and severed the root, wincing as he tore free.
Crimson sprayed out in the air behind him as he rocketed upward again, distance buying him a precious second.
Below, Kareth Zul raised his head.
His mouth opened as energy charged, gathering for a devastating breath.
Adam moved first.
"Shatter!"
The Word Spell activated instantly.
Kareth Zul's monstrous body tensed, his movent halting as a horrible noise echoed from within—
Crack! Crack! Crack!
All at once, his veins fractured... spiderwebbing through his skin like shattered glass beneath the surface!
Crack! Crack!
Such a spell disrupted Kareth Zul's action of wanting to release a blast!
But it didn't last long.
As fast as the veins appeared, they also quickly healed!
His body returned to normal, like nothing had happened...
Kareth Zul looked at Adam.
His eyes narrowed, and a cold smirk ford.
"Your tricks are interesting… but they won't stop ."
Adam clicked his tongue.
'Monstrous regeneration…'
He didn't waste ti.
The mont Kareth Zul recovered, Adam activated another spell.
"Recall."
The spell triggered instantly.
Kareth Zul froze.
His expression darkened.
His pupils shook as sothing returned to his mind...
Sothing he had forgotten for a long ti.
Pain.
The pain of his body being wrapped in soil.
The feeling of being crushed, buried alive.
The pain of sothing slowly eating away at his flesh.
The soil moving like a living thing, devouring him… using him as fuel.
It was the punishnt of the Tower of Yxthar.
He saw it clearly.
A mory he didn't want...
He saw the silhouette of a man standing above him, staring with eyes full of pity.
A deep, cold pity.
As Kareth Zul's breathing turned sharp, Adam spoke again.
"Resound."
The pain doubled.
The mont the spell activated, Kareth Zul's entire body shook.
The mory turned darker.
The soil in his mind grew limbs...
Long, twisted limbs that grabbed his body and pulled tighter, trying to keep him buried forever.
It felt real.
Too real.
Then ca the scream.
A loud, screeching cry tore out from Kareth Zul's throat.
It echoed through the forest like a God's scream!
The trees around him withered.
Then they regrew.
Then withered again.
As if his power was spinning out of control, reacting to his pain!
And Adam wasn't an exception to the consequences of such loose power!

Adam blinked in confusion.
Then sothing strange happened.
He felt sothing looking from behind him… but there was no one there.
He looked down... and froze.
There was an eye on the back of his hand!
Not only that, but extra hands were growing from his back, ripping through his skin and tearing off his wings.
Inside his chest, he felt it.
Another heartbeat.
A second heart was forming.
It was connecting itself to his veins trying to take over!
His body was mutating and was trying to sabotage itself!
'Shit…'
Without thinking, Adam activated [Authority of Disconnection].
The mutated parts of his body were cut off instantly.
The second heart.
The extra arms.
Gone.
With his regeneration, he healed fast.
But it wasn't over...
The mutations started growing again!
And the mutations were getting faster!
He had to use [Authority of Disconnection] again. And again.
Cut. Heal. Cut. Heal.
It was endless.
Adam frowned.
'This is too difficult....'
His spells were barely slowing Kareth Zul down...
And he couldn't just keep using [Temporary Copy] to test out random spells...
Not to ntion, it was only a matter of ti before Adam ran out of Mana.
With mana absorption abilities, Kareth Zul was bound to gain advantage as the battle lasted longer...
He needed sothing that could end this before such an event could happen...
Then, Adam's eyes stopped.
He looked at an item in his inventory.

Adam stared at it for a mont as he paused...
Then opened the system chat.
