Ti flew by, and before they knew it, it had been more than a month since Zhang Zhentian and Xia Jing got married. Throughout this period, Zhang Zhentian spent nearly every day trying to bond with Xia Jing, yet Xia Jing still hadn’t beco pregnant with his child. This left Old Master Zhang with no choice but to wonder if the problem might lie with Xia Jing.
"Zhentian, take Xia Jing to the hospital for a check-up today. It’s been so long, and there’s not the slightest sign of pregnancy. I really don’t know what’s going on with you two!" Old Master Zhang said, following Zhang Zhentian downstairs and constantly nagging behind him, even following him to the bathroom.
"Dad, you’re following even to the bathroom," Zhentian said hopelessly as he reached the bathroom door and turned to see his father still behind him.
"So what? It’s not like I haven’t seen it before. I used to wash your pants when you were little, what’s the matter?" Elder Zhang didn’t understand what Zhentian ant and casually replied.
Zhentian felt exasperated and said to Old Master Zhang, "Dad, those were childhood days, but now that I’ve grown up this big, you still follow around. Don’t you realize how awkward that makes feel?"
Old Master Zhang couldn’t grasp what Zhentian was embarrassed about. He had seen it all before, so why would that be embarrassing?
"Okay, okay, you go use the bathroom; I’ll just wait outside. I can continue talking to you when you co out, or I can talk while you do your business..." Old Master Zhang thought he was so clever for coming up with such an idea—a real stroke of genius—but this really left Zhentian at a loss for what to do.
"Dad, then wait for to co out and continue," Zhentian thought to himself that once he was in, he would lock the door from the inside. If he didn’t co out, maybe his father would get tired of waiting and leave.
Zhentian thought his plan was quite good, so he stayed in the bathroom for over an hour. Looking through the frosted glass door, he saw Old Master Zhang’s shadow still outside. He called out, "Dad, why haven’t you left yet?"
"I’m waiting to continue our talk once you co out. Never mind, I might as well tell you now. I have things to do too..." Old Master Zhang again bombarded Zhentian with a torrent of words. Zhentian was so overwheld by what Old Master Zhang was saying that he quickly interrupted him.
"Dad, I got it; I will definitely go for a check-up today. You can relax now. Don’t you have other things to do? Go deal with them quickly!"
As long as Old Master Zhang heard that Zhentian agreed to get checked, he nodded in satisfaction and left. Zhentian felt relieved that his father had finally gone.
Upon hearing Old Master Zhang close the door, Zhentian knew his father had left the house. He stepped out of the bathroom and ran upstairs to find Xia Jing.
"My dear, it’s ti to get up; the sun’s already shining on your bottom!" Zhentian called out teasingly to Xia Jing. In the past month, Xia Jing hadn’t confessed the incident with the strange man to Zhentian, so he didn’t stop teasing her. Each ti, it ended with Xia Jing collapsing into sleep, which made Zhentian wonder why there had been no sign of pregnancy for so long, which was abnormal and made both him and Old Master Zhang suspicious.
"Stop it, can’t you let get so proper rest with your son?" mumbled Xia Jing, still half asleep. At first, Zhentian was confused when he heard this. He didn’t understand what she ant by her words, but then it clicked.
"Xia Jing, what did you just say?" Zhentian asked her.
Xia Jingyi woke abruptly from her slumber. She had always kept this a secret, not telling anyone. A few days ago, she felt unwell, and her period was more than ten days late, which was quite abnormal for her. So, she had secretly gone for a check-up without telling Zhang Zhentian or Old Master Zhang. She wanted to wait for the right mont to surprise both Zhang Zhentian and Old Master Zhang, but she had inadvertently spilled the beans in her sleep!
