Xia Jing patted the woman’s shoulder with her hand. The woman was so frightened by Xia Jing’s words that she couldn’t say anything. She turned to the woman there and said, "Even if it’s a man I, Xia Jing, don’t want, you all shouldn’t touch him. Even if I give him to you, you should weigh whether you can handle him or not."
After saying this, Xia Jing turned to pull up Zhang Zhentian. She spoke to Zhang Zhentian, "No matter how I, Xia Jing, treat you, you can’t go finding soone else outside."
"I was wrong, Xia Jing, I will never do that again!" Zhang Zhentian, in a daze, heard Xia Jing speaking beside his ear and answered her intermittently.
Zhang Zhentian’s words made the won who originally wanted to approach him feel very awkward. When Xia Jing carried Zhang Zhentian out, she glanced at these won and took him back to the Zhang Family.
Zhang Yichen heard his grandfather talking about how his mother just carried his father off. He simply couldn’t imagine how incredibly strong his mother must be to carry a grown man and still walk down the street so effortlessly. How much strength would it take to do that? He found it hard to believe his mother, who was indeed so amazing, deservedly the one he admired the most, as well as the one he found most ruthless.
When Xia Jing brought Zhang Zhentian back to the Zhang Family, Old Master Zhang was still awake in the bedroom. Hearing the door close, Old Master Zhang was about to co out to see if it was Zhang Zhentian who had returned. Just as he reached the bedroom door and was about to open it, he heard Zhang Zhentian say: "Xia Jing, I truly know I was wrong, don’t leave ."
Old Master Zhang thought Zhang Zhentian was drunk and talking in his sleep. Then he heard Xia Jing’s voice coming from outside the door: "Zhang Zhentian, let go."
When Old Master Zhang heard Xia Jing’s voice, he knew it was Xia Jing who had brought Zhang Zhentian back, and he decided there was no need to go out and disturb them, so he turned around and went back to sleep.
Zhang Zhentian leaned weakly on Xia Jing’s shoulder. Xia Jing nudged Zhang Zhentian, but there was no response; he just leaned there. Xia Jing had no choice but to take Zhang Zhentian back to his bedroom.
Xia Jing, being a forr rcenary, had great strength. She directly hoisted Zhang Zhentian onto her shoulder and turned to walk towards his bedroom. After entering Zhang Zhentian’s bedroom, she unceremoniously dumped him off her back.
"Ouch, that hurt!" ca Zhang Zhentian’s cry of pain from the bed.
Xia Jing was indifferent. She nonchalantly took off Zhang Zhentian’s shoes, pulled over the blanket to cover him, and was about to leave when Zhang Zhentian pulled her back, causing her to tumble unexpectedly onto his chest.
Xia Jing was shocked and lay there motionless. Zhang Zhentian carefully sniffed the fragrance of Xia Jing’s hair. His Adam’s apple bobbed, and he held Xia Jing tighter and tighter. Xia Jing ca to her senses and quickly pushed Zhang Zhentian away, but he stubbornly wouldn’t let go. Xia Jing had no choice but to strike Zhang Zhentian, and he released his hold on her.
"Zhang Zhentian, what are you doing? Since you’re already awake, I’m leaving now!" Xia Jing said to Zhang Zhentian and quickly ran towards the door.
Just before reaching the door, she heard Zhang Zhentian’s voice behind her, "Oh, why does my head hurt so much?"
Xia Jing turned to look at Zhang Zhentian, who asked her knowingly, "Aren’t you leaving? Why are you still here? If you don’t care about my life or death, what are you doing standing here?"
Xia Jing knew full well that Zhang Zhentian was acting, and she knew he was deliberately trying to provoke her. Yet, she couldn’t help but want to rush over and hold him. She silently reminded herself: Xia Jing, oh Xia Jing, you can’t go over there. You can’t show weakness. He has already treated you like this, so why stand here and watch him direct his own drama?
Zhang Zhentian found it unbelievable that Xia Jing hadn’t rushed over to hold him after so long. He thought to himself: Could Xia Jing know I’m acting? Or does she no longer care about and genuinely not care about my life or death anymore?
The more Zhang Zhentian thought about it, the more upset he felt. He looked at Xia Jing pitifully. Eventually, Xia Jing couldn’t resist Zhang Zhentian’s innocent act. She sighed and slowly walked towards him.
