Zhang Zhentian never imagined his father could be so heartless. As a son, he’d knelt down, begging with all his heart, yet his father remained unmoved, refusing to forgive him for his mistake. He truly didn’t understand what he was thinking back then that made him believe he could kneel in front of his son, insisting on getting his father’s forgiveness from the commitnt he made at school. Now it feels like he’s put himself in a difficult position. Why did he continually put aside all his dignity to plead with his father whose intent was clear from the doctor: he wouldn’t forgive him nor allow his son to return ho, back to his side.
Could all of this just be his own wishful thinking? He simply wants every family mber to treat him kindly, to coexist in peace, for everyone to live harmoniously. Why then must they repeatedly hurt each other with unpleasantness? Clearly, a family can live happily together, yet they choose to harm one another, leaving everyone in discomfort.
He truly wishes he could find a place to hide, for never in his life had he felt such humiliation as he did now, kneeling for another’s forgiveness, while the other party never even considered forgiving him, instead making conditions. To him, this was a great insult, believing his father never treated him as a real son. Yet Zhentian never considered why his father acted this way. Was he trying to prove his actions were right or wrong? His perspective only saw others’ faults, never his own. Like soone with two pockets, one showing only others’ mistakes, the other concealing his own, blind to the harm his past errors had caused others.
