Everyone thought that this matter would temporarily co to an end due to the decision each had made, believing that the once scattered family could stop worrying like before. But unexpectedly, just as her parents’ conflict had been resolved, her own family faced another crisis!
Ran Zhihan secretly t with her junior high school classmate behind Zhang Yichen’s back. She originally thought it wasn’t that big a deal, but never anticipated that it would beco so troubleso.
That night, her husband searched all over the house, but she was nowhere to be found. After a long search, he still hadn’t seen his wife, which worried him deeply. He feared sothing had happened to her or that she was facing a difficulty and unwilling to tell him.
The relationship between the couple, which had finally stabilized, was now on the brink of falling apart again. All she wanted was a happy life with the woman she loved, but why was it so difficult for them?
In the middle of the night, Ran Zhihan finally returned ho slowly. She expected to see no one in the living room, not even the lights on, thinking her husband must still be at the hospital. She reassured herself, thinking he hadn’t returned ho and didn’t know that she had been out all day, putting her mind at ease.
However, she hadn’t anticipated that things wouldn’t go as smoothly as she imagined. How could she have guessed her husband had returned ho earlier, had been looking for her, but didn’t find her?
She sauntered upstairs, pushed open the bedroom door, and when she turned on the light, she was shocked to find her husband sitting on the bed.
"Ah, when did you co back? Sitting here in the dark, don’t you know that scaring people can scare them to death?"
"What are you talking about, getting so startled by ? Could it be that you’ve done sothing behind my back to feel guilty about? Don’t you want to know what ti I ca back, don’t you want to explain where you’ve been, who you t, or what you did behind my back?"
Ran Zhihan beca increasingly anxious. She sensed her husband must have discovered sothing or he wouldn’t have said such things to her.
"Husband, what’s wrong with you? Is Grandpa’s condition changing? Or did work put too much strain on you today? Why do you sound so strange? I haven’t done anything to upset you, so why are you always so sarcastic with ? The hot and cold treatnt is making it hard for to stay calm. I really don’t want much, just to stay by your side and live the life I want. Why are you always so quick to lose your temper with ? What exactly are you suspecting of ?"
"Am I suspecting you of sothing? I always feel like you don’t think before you act, and even speak carelessly. Do you realize this makes think you’re acting guilty? Have I accused you of doing anything wrong to ? Why are you overreacting so much?
And about Grandpa’s illness, he’s much better now, stable. Why do you think a change in his condition is causing to be hot and cold? Why do you think it’s work stress? Have you never looked for reasons within yourself? Haven’t you ever thought about why I, who have always been so good to you, would suddenly change my attitude towards you by a hundred and eighty degrees?
How can you be like this? Whenever there’s a problem, you never first look for reasons within yourself. You always feel like others have wronged you or owe you, but have you really considered it? If it weren’t for sothing you did, why would I be hot and cold towards you? Dare you say you did nothing tonight? I’ve been ho since noon, waiting until now for you to return. What ti did you leave, and why have you only co back now? What did you do, and who did you et? Can you honestly tell ?"
Zhang Yichen stared intently at his wife, not wanting to believe the suspicions in his heart were true. He knew her junior high classmate, who once had a crush on her and pursued her fervently, had co back to find her. She might not have told him, but that did not an she wasn’t aware. To uncover so truths, all it took was a little effort, yet he had never INVESTIGATED until now his suspicions had driven him to do so.
But he surely hadn’t expected his suspicions to be confird as truth. Why did his wife have to secretly et with her junior high classmate until this late, now in the early hours of the morning?
"I didn’t do anything; I didn’t et anyone. I just went out for a walk; can’t I do that? I’m not a prisoner; why should I be cooped up at ho all the ti? I just want the freedom I desire. Is it wrong to go out for a stroll?"
"Did you really just go for a walk? Then can you tell who you were with? You’ve been out strolling until now, haven’t you looked at the ti? It’s already past midnight; you’ve been out since noon. What have you been doing all day? What did you buy, who were you with, and what did you talk about? Can you answer ?"
Ran Zhihan never expected her husband to be so aggressive, demanding a clear explanation. Now she felt even more uneasy. If her husband found out about this, the consequences would be unthinkable, and the fragile relationship that had just been nded would revert to its prior state.
"Yes, you are not a prisoner of our ho; you certainly have the right to do what you wish. But I hope you consider my feelings and don’t gamble on chance. If I discover you’ve betrayed , you should know the consequences you will face. I won’t give you another chance. The thing I detest the most in life is being betrayed by soone. You can stop loving , use as a tool, or be with for money, but I don’t ever want to be betrayed by you. If you want to leave, just say it openly, and I will let you go. Don’t do things behind my back; don’t think I’m unaware..."
Ran Zhihan was terrified by Zhang Yichen’s words!
