At the press conference, Zhang Zhentian saw Xia Jing putting aside their past grievances and using all her savings from the past few years to rescue Zhang Corporation. He felt an imnse joy. "With this, Father shouldn’t continue opposing being with Xia Jing, right?" Zhang Zhentian silently thought to himself, the corners of his mouth unconsciously curving upward.

The next day, Old Master Zhang went to the office early for a eting. With Xia Jing’s tily funding injection, the company was now functioning normally. After the eting, Old Master Zhang instructed his secretary to arrange a eting with Xia Jing so he could talk to her.

"Chairman, is there sothing you need?" The secretary walked in to inquire with Old Master Zhang.

"Go set up a eting with Xia Jing for . Tell her I want to talk to her. Hurry now." Old Master Zhang gestured with a wave of his hand.

"Understood."

After the secretary left, Old Master Zhang began mulling over the situation involving Xia Jing and Zhang Zhentian all by himself.

"Xia Jing, oh Xia Jing, what is it that you’re actually thinking? Despite how I’ve treated you, you ca to my rescue in desperate tis. This... what am I supposed to do about this?" Old Master Zhang muttered to himself. He was so engrossed in his thoughts that he didn’t even notice Zhang Zhentian had entered the office. Seeing his father deep in thought, Zhang Zhentian couldn’t help but feel curious about what was on his mind.

"Dad, Dad, Dad!" Zhang Zhentian called out to Old Master Zhang several tis, but Old Master Zhang remained motionless, like a puppet, showing no reaction. This only heightened Zhang Zhentian’s curiosity.

"Dad, what are you thinking about?" Zhang Zhentian patted his father on the shoulder. Old Master Zhang jolted awake, suddenly turning his head to stare at Zhang Zhentian. The abrupt motion startled Zhang Zhentian.

"Dad, why are you staring at like that? Are you suddenly struck by how handso your son is? [Grinning/grinning]" Zhang Zhentian said with exaggerated expressions and gestures.

"Hmph! You little rascal, asking your old man if you’re handso or not? You’re my son, how could you not be handso?" Old Master Zhang chuckled as he patted Zhang Zhentian on the shoulder.

"Alright, Dad, back to the point—what were you thinking about so deeply just now? I called you multiple tis, and you didn’t respond," Zhang Zhentian interjected. "Seriously, it’s fortunate I’m not a robber; otherwise, you’d be in real trouble today."

"You rascal, are you cursing your old man? The company just weathered a storm, and you couldn’t say sothing nicer? Really now," Old Master Zhang scowled at Zhang Zhentian.

"Dad, co on, I’m not jinxing you or anything. Nothing I say will co true anyway, so relax! Now that Xia Jing has resolved the company’s financial woes, why don’t you focus on running the business and stop ddling in matters between and Xia Jing, hmm?" Zhang Zhentian tentatively tested his father, hoping to see if he had softened his stance on the relationship given Xia Jing’s selfless act.

Zhang Zhentian noticed that Old Master Zhang remained silent, his expression fluctuating between light and dark, uncertain and indecisive. Eventually, Old Master Zhang decided it was ti to ask his son for his opinion.

"Zhentian, I want to ask you sothing, and you must answer honestly." Old Master Zhang gestured for Zhang Zhentian to sit down next to him and began his inquiry.

"Alright, go ahead, Dad."

"Alright. Let ask you: Has Xia Jing ever killed anyone? Where did she get all that money? Don’t just tell it’s savings from years of frugality—I’m not buying it. She spent such a massive amount—could it really have been purely to help us through this crisis? Is she truly without ulterior motives?" Old Master Zhang voiced the burning questions he had kept to himself.

After Xia Jing left, Old Master Zhang returned to the company.

Once back at the office, Old Master Zhang asked his secretary to bring the Finance Manager, Xiao Ling, to his office.

"Chairman, what can I do for you?" Xiao Ling asked as she entered.

Old Master Zhang questioned the Finance Manager, Xiao Ling: "Let ask you, the company’s finances have always been under your supervision, correct?"

"That’s correct. Every account in the company is managed by . May I know what the Chairman’s intention is?" Xiao Ling asked in reply.

"The company’s accounts have shown issues ever since Shen Yang and Deng Chao invested in the company. As the Finance Manager, are you aware of this?" It seed no coincidence that Old Master Zhang, after eting Xia Jing, had imdiately summoned Xiao Ling upon his return to the office. Evidently, Shen Yang and Deng Chao’s withdrawal from their investnts had prompted Old Master Zhang to investigate the accounts. What he uncovered were fraudulent reports, tax evasion, misappropriation of funds—all of which occurred following Shen Yang and Deng Chao’s investnt. This discovery enraged him profoundly. What had initially seed like straightforward investnts in the company were, in fact, Shen Yang and Deng Chao acting as Li Haixiao’s planted informants within his enterprise. Even more unnervingly, this accidental probe had unexpectedly unearthed glaring financial misconduct in the company.
