Zhang Ni was shocked the mont he learned that his grandparents were planning to leave the house once again. He couldn’t believe his grandparents would do such a thing—leaving again and again. Why did they have to repeat their mistakes? Was it true that everyone in this family was nothing more than a tool to be used by them?

Zhang Ni saw his father still standing there. He could hardly believe it. The family was already in turmoil, yet his father continued as if nothing had happened. How could he continue like this without concern? Did his words really hurt his father so deeply that now he refused to care about the family anymore? Was it possible that his father truly no longer wanted to get involved, no matter what the family was going through?

This wasn’t the outco he wanted to see. While he wished his father could spend more ti with his mother, forcing him into a decision like this would make him nothing but a destroyer of family peace. He couldn’t let that happen. All he truly wanted was for everyone in the family to be happy and joyful. Even if nobody in the family understood him, what did it matter? As long as he remained true to his conscience, it was enough.

"Dad, I feel that since you already know Grandpa and Grandma are planning to leave this ti, to abandon all of us again, shouldn’t you go and see them?

If the reason you don’t want to go back is that I said you weren’t taking good care of Mom, then let make it clear now—I will take care of Mom myself. But I also hope you’ll take a mont to think carefully about whether you really should go back or not. After all, they are your parents—my grandparents. If they are making this decision today, it must be partly because of us. Don’t you want to go back and try to persuade them to stay? For them to set aside all their pride and beg to return to this ho—doesn’t that prove that, deep down, they truly want to stay? Yet for the sake of the small conflicts between us, they are ready to leave again? Aren’t we doing them a great injustice by letting this happen?

You should understand how hard it must be for soone to let go of their pride and admit mistakes to their family, just in the hope of coming back. Should we really put all the bla on them? Are we completely without fault ourselves? We should reflect on our actions and think carefully about whether we’ve been right or wrong. We shouldn’t keep shifting all the bla onto others. They’re not our scapegoats, and it’s not their responsibility to bear the weight of our mistakes over and over again..."

"Maybe you feel that what I’m saying today is a bit much, but have you thought about it? For Grandpa and Grandma to co back to this family, they must have summoned imnse courage to take that step and admit their mistakes to us, all so they could be forgiven and stay here, never to leave again. But now, seeing how things have turned out today, I truly don’t understand, nor can I accept, why this conclusion ca to pass. If it’s because of my own actions, then what should I do to persuade them to stay? Every single thing I’ve done has been wrong—I never seem to get anything right. I’ve brought them so much pain, so much heartache, but I’ve never even thought about it before."

You are their son. Things have already reached this point; no matter what, you should go back and see them. At the very least, you should try to persuade them to stay. Whether they ultimately decide to stay or not is their choice and has nothing to do with us. But if we don’t even bother going back to check on them, acting indifferent as they turn and leave, in the end, people will just say we descendants failed to fulfill even the smallest responsibility to our elders, that we didn’t try to get them to stay."

Zhang Yichen truly hadn’t expected his son to say such things. He thought his son would at least carefully consider whether such actions were right or wrong. But now that his son had spoken so plainly, if he still chose not to go back, how could he justify it? Everything he’d done so far had been in hopes that they would stay in the household peacefully. Yet now, even with things ending like this, he realized the bla truly shouldn’t fall on his parents. Even if they hadn’t co back, perhaps this outco was destined all along. Why should they have to bear that guilt?

Zhang Yichen pondered for a mont and decided he should return to see his parents. If they insisted on leaving the house and no longer wanted to stay with him, he would have no more to say. But if he didn’t go to try and persuade them to stay, and they left never to co back, he knew he’d regret it for the rest of his life.

When Zhang Yichen returned ho, he saw his parents had already packed all their belongings and were ready to leave. In that mont, he suddenly didn’t know how to start the conversation. Should he say sothing? If he let this chance slip, would he regret it? If he just stood there silently, would they perhaps hesitate to leave so quickly? But deep down, he knew the answer wasn’t definite. He understood his parents’ personalities better than anyone else. He knew they absolutely wouldn’t just stay behind.

"The two of you have co back to this house, but now you’re planning to abandon once again, aren’t you? I just want to ask, do you really love ? If you love , then don’t leave !

If you choose to leave today, no matter whether or not you co back in the future, I will never forgive you.

I’m not a Saint. I can’t accept the wounds my parents inflict on again and again, remaining indifferent. Maybe you think none of this matters, but to , it’s impossible to ignore. If you could, even a little, consider things from my point of view, the outco would have been entirely different. Now, knowing my wife is in this condition, you still choose to leave at this mont—aren’t you just making my situation even worse?"
