Her little gulping motion did not escape Noah Drexler’s eyes.
He furrowed his brow.
"Hungry?"
"No..." Sumr Shawcross replied awkwardly, quickly denying it.
As she spoke, she walked back to the sofa, picked up the violin case she had dropped in fright, opened the lid, carefully took out the violin, and then smiled to share her joy with him.
"This violin was a gift from my dad for my sixteenth birthday, and I finally won it back today."
All these years, he was the only one besides her brother Sean Shawcross with whom she wanted to share her joy.
Seeing her so delighted at this mont, Noah’s gaze shifted, and his handso face showed a touch of emotion.
A mont later, he suddenly rembered sothing, narrowing his long eyes, and asked her.
"What was your wager?"
He was quite curious, wondering what the other party used as a wager with such a luxurious violin, and now that she didn’t have any valuable items on her, what she used in exchange.
The mont Noah asked the question, the smile on Sumr’s face suddenly froze.
She hadn’t expected he would care about this question.
Just the thought of having used Noah as a wager in the bet made her feel a wave of guilt.
"Haha... It’s not important. Anyway, I won today!" She laughed awkwardly, trying to brush it off.
If Noah knew she almost sold him out today, he would definitely be furious.
After her perfunctory explanation, Noah’s eyebrows furrowed too. It was obvious she felt guilty.
Sensing things weren’t going well, Sumr quickly put the violin back in its case and then laughed again, attempting to change the subject.
"By the way, did you co to Zephyria specifically for that bracelet?"
However, after she asked her question, Noah kept his lips tightly closed, showing no intention of answering her.
Just as she was puzzled, the man suddenly reached out a hand and pulled her into his arms.
Sumr fell into his embrace, looking up at him in shock.
"Noah..."
"What are you guilty about?" he asked, furrowing his brows, his gaze sharp and deep, as if he could see through her thoughts.
"I’m not..." Sumr blinked.
"What was the wager?" he asked, looking down at her intensely, pursing his lips in concern.
"..." She regretted showing off the violin to him earlier, which led to him obsessing over her bet with Wendy Linden.
"Not going to say?" His dark eyes narrowed, and his large hand slowly moved to the zipper of her half-skirt at her waist...
Sumr recoiled in shock, instinctively shrinking back and quickly reached out to stop his hand.
"What are you doing..."
Ever since that night when she accidentally drank chicken soup, she had beco sensitive to his presence... constantly worried she might lose control like that night and throw away all her principles...
Her overly cautious deanor at this mont made Noah furrow his brows, suddenly sowhat displeased.
Recently, the woman who shalessly clung to him every day now seed to be guarding against him like he was a bad guy.
A mont later, he pursed his thin lips and quietly reminded her.
"We are married."
