She never expected that what Sumr Shawcross said on that day would actually co true!
"I know you hate , but please help this one ti. As long as you can help , I’m willing to do anything!" Wendy Linden looked up at Sumr Shawcross, choking with emotion as she pleaded.
After the Linden Family had an incident, those relatives and the friends who once flattered her all changed their attitudes, becoming cold and even mocking her.
She had no choice but to turn to Sumr Shawcross for help!
Looking at Wendy Linden’s current disheveled state, Sumr Shawcross couldn’t help but feel a mont of disorientation. She suddenly recalled how years ago, when the Shawcross Family went bankrupt, her brother was still studying abroad, and her grandfather had suddenly passed away due to illness. She was left alone in this familiar city, facing a bunch of debt collectors, lonely and helpless...
She went from being a well-treasured young lady to a pitiable person pursued by creditors, singing in bars to pay off debts with no way out.
At that ti, she didn’t even know how she managed to endure it...
Thinking of this, Sumr Shawcross felt a lump in her throat, and the next second, she suddenly spoke.
"Alright, I’ll help you."
Seeing her agree, Wendy Linden’s expression froze, turning into shock.
"You really agreed to help ?" she asked, sowhat in disbelief.
The two of them had been rivals since they were young, constantly competing and despising each other.
How could she agree to help her so readily...
Seeing the disbelieving look on the other’s face, Sumr Shawcross felt a tinge of helplessness.
"If you don’t believe , forget it. I’m leaving." She shrugged, turned around, and prepared to open the car door.
Seeing this, Wendy Linden was startled and hurriedly leaped over, grabbing hold of Sumr’s leg to prevent her from leaving.
"I believe you, I believe you, please don’t leave!"
She was already at her wit’s end, what else was there not to believe!
Sumr Shawcross froze in place, looking down at Wendy Linden, who was terrified of her leaving, and couldn’t help but sigh.
"Get in the car."
...
An hour later.
Central Hospital of Narsus City.
In the hospital room, a middle-aged man lay quietly with tubes all over his body.
Wendy Linden, covered in filth, knelt by the bedside, wiping away tears while holding the man’s hand.
At the door, Sumr Shawcross stood quietly watching the scene in the hospital room.
In her heart, she felt sowhat envious of Wendy Linden.
Though the Linden Family had undergone turmoil, at least Mr. Linden’s life was saved, unlike her own experience... Her grandfather departed so suddenly, she had no ans to change anything.
"Sumr, I’ve already paid the hospitalization and treatnt fees," Jessica said softly, after handling the admission paperwork, standing beside Sumr Shawcross.
Sumr Shawcross nodded lightly, just as she was about to turn and leave, Wendy Linden suddenly ca after her.
"Wait a minute..."
Sumr Shawcross stopped, turning with a look of puzzlent towards her.
"Thank you for helping , but I won’t accept your personal favor!" Wendy Linden looked at Sumr Shawcross earnestly.
Upon hearing this, Sumr Shawcross couldn’t help but chuckle, then curiously asked her.
"Then how do you plan to repay it?"
The Wendy Linden in front of her reminded her of her forr self; once a fallen heiress, yet unable to let go of her pride and stubbornness, thus always facing setback after setback...
"You just tell how, and I’ll repay you any way I can."
"With that figure and face of yours... you might still be worth so money," Sumr Shawcross smirked, deliberately eyeing Wendy Linden’s figure.
