Seeing that Sumr Shawcross looked unwell, Sean Morgan hurried to speak up, defending Noah Drexler.
"Madam, don’t worry. The boss is staying in the hospital this ti only to better aid his recovery."
Hearing Sean’s words, Sumr’s face didn’t show much improvent, and she still felt a bit worried inside.
Noah’s recovery was going smoothly, so why was his hospital stay being extended?
"Mrs. Drexler, I’ll take my leave now." The director was concerned that staying longer might result in a mistake, so he offered Sumr a smile and then turned to leave.
"I’ll walk the director out." Sean nodded to Sumr and then followed the director’s steps.
After the two left, Sumr sighed and then turned around to head towards Noah’s hospital room.
As soon as she returned to the room, a nurse brought in the dication he needed to take today. As per the usual routine, the dicine was handed over to Sumr.
Holding the tray, Sumr approached the bedside and glanced at the man on the bed.
Noah was leaning against the bed, holding a laptop. His long fingers were tapping the keyboard as he instructed his assistant about work.
When he saw Sumr coming over with the dicine, he lifted his eyes to glance at her, then closed the laptop.
"Take your dicine." Sumr handed the small transparent box containing the pills to Noah and spoke softly.
However, Noah rely glanced down at the small pillbox in her hand without making a move to take it, frowning slightly, a trace of displeasure evident on his handso face.
Seeing this, Sumr sighed, understanding his aning. She couldn’t help but show a look of helplessness. She placed the tray on the bedside table, sat down next to him, and then slightly lifted her head...
Her lips covered his thin lips, giving them a gentle kiss before sitting back, then handing him the small box of dicine.
The man who had just been kissed by her now had his handso face filled with visible joy.
He curled his lips slightly, then reached out to take the pillbox from her hand, tilted his head back, and swallowed all the pills in one go.
Sumr quickly handed him the water, and he swallowed the dicine imdiately.
"Can’t you drink it slowly? What if you choke?" She glanced at him, unable to help but scold.
But the man seed indifferent.
"I’ll step out for a bit." Lost for words, Sumr said as she got up, intending to leave the room.
Just as she was about to get up from the bed, her wrist was caught by his large hand.
She was stunned, and the next mont, the man gave a pull and tugged her down.
She tilted to the side, and her whole body fell straight into his embrace...
By the ti she ca to her senses, his hands were already around her, holding her in his arms.
She instinctively tried to get up but heard his deep voice coming from above her head.
"Sumr Shawcross, I’m injured!"
"..." Her body stiffened imdiately, not daring to move a muscle, afraid she might hurt his wounds.
