On the surface, almost no one knew that this leading entertainnt kingdom in the country was his business!
So leaving her here was the best choice.
However, after he finished speaking, the woman still clung tightly to his clothes, refusing to let go.
"I haven’t slept well for days." Sumr Shawcross bit her lip and spoke weakly.
She didn’t know when it started, but she beca increasingly dependent on this man. Without him by her side, she simply couldn’t sleep.
So at this mont, she sincerely hoped he wouldn’t leave, that he would always stay by her side.
She was truly afraid, afraid that he would end up like her brother... unable to escape the fate of their past lives.
In this life, all she wished for was to be with him happily.
But at present, there seed to be a significant hurdle they still had to overco.
After she spoke, a hint of helplessness flashed through the man’s eyes.
The next second, he suddenly turned over with her in his arms, switching to a position where she could comfortably lean against his chest.
His sudden movent startled Sumr, and her head was cradled against his chest.
The sound of his heartbeat, steady and rhythmic...
As she was stunned, the man’s voice, which gave her imnse peace of mind, sounded deeply.
"Sleep, I won’t leave tonight!"
Hearing his voice, a smile finally appeared on Sumr Shawcross’s face. She snuggled closer into his arms and obediently closed her eyes.
Noah Drexler held her, watching the woman in his embrace gradually fall asleep, finally revealing a touch of warmth on his handso face...
...
In the morning.
When Sumr Shawcross opened her eyes, she heard the pattering sound of rain coming from outside the floor-to-ceiling windows.
She turned over, finally waking up.
She subconsciously turned her head to look at the spot beside her, only to find that the man from last night was already gone.
Seeing this, she felt a bit disappointed. The room had been dark last night, and she hadn’t been able to get a good look at him.
If it weren’t for the lingering mature masculine scent on the blanket, she would have almost doubted whether it was all just a dream.
The rain outside continued to fall, its sound soft and reassuring.
Sumr sighed softly, then lowered her head, burying her face in the blanket, breathing in the scent he left behind...
After maintaining this position for a few seconds, Sumr suddenly rembered sothing. She sat up abruptly in bed and reached to untangle her slightly ssy long hair.
"Oh no!"
She had forgotten that Yancy Shaw was coming over tonight, and she hadn’t done what she promised him yesterday!
With this thought, Sumr’s expression changed, and she quickly got out of bed, dashed into the bathroom to wash up and change her clothes, before leaving the bedroom.
When she went to Snow’s room, she found that Snow had already gone out, prompting Sumr to turn and head downstairs.
...
In the restaurant, Snow, dressed in a black dress and wearing delicate makeup, sat by the window, seriously going through the restaurant’s revenue figures while sipping her coffee.
Across from her, Katherine Irving sat there, uninterested in eating and instead looking at Snow with a gossipy expression.
"Snow, the boss was here last night." She quietly said to Snow, placing one hand beside her mouth.
"I know." Snow replied without looking up. The noise next door last night wasn’t small, and she wasn’t deaf.
