Seeing him accept the gift, a relieved expression finally appeared on Sumr Shawcross’s face, and she spoke up.
"Since you’ve accepted the gift, I should be leaving now."
As soon as she finished speaking, she turned around, intending to leave.
But just as she turned around, her wrist was suddenly grasped by his hand.
She stopped in her tracks and looked at him with confusion.
"Leaving already?" Noah Drexler frowned deeply, his handso face full of displeasure.
Although he would secretly visit her every night, strictly speaking, they hadn’t seen each other for several days.
Even though he snuck in to see her every night, his heart still ached with longing for her!
But look at her, her expression was so calm, and she didn’t even plan to look at him a mont longer before hastily leaving?
Thinking about this, Noah felt a wave of dissatisfaction!
Heaven knows how turbulent his emotions were when he saw her co to find him earlier!
Suddenly being questioned like this, Sumr couldn’t help but be taken aback for a mont.
After a few seconds, she suddenly realized sothing and hurriedly thought of an excuse.
"That eagle is still waiting for to feed it."
Eagle?
Hearing her words, Noah imdiately thought of the old man’s eagle, and his expression changed again.
To her, that eagle was more important than him?!
Seeing no sign from him to let go, Sumr’s face couldn’t help but show a look of helplessness.
"Noah Drexler, it’s getting late, and the day after tomorrow you have to..." She paused here, deliberately leaving out the rest before changing the topic, "So I’ll head back first, not to disturb you."
She bit her lip, then raised her hand, trying to remove his hand from her wrist.
Noah lowered his gaze to her hand, and in the next second, he suddenly released her wrist.
Sumr turned around, ready to leave.
His expression suddenly cald down.
"If you leave, what about ?"
His sudden words made her heart tighten. She paused for a few seconds, then mustered the courage to turn and look at him.
Noah suddenly raised the empty soup bowl in his hand, then with a tight-lipped expression, he told her word by word.
"It was spiked, Sumr Shawcross, if you have the heart to be cruel, then just keep walking!"
As his words fell, Sumr was stunned.
Spiked?
She suddenly rembered that earlier, the bowl of soup was brought to her by Autumn Duval.
But since he knew that it was spiked, why did he still drink it?
Conflicted, she thought for a mont and then suddenly realized sothing, looking at him in astonishnt.
"Did you drink it on purpose?"
Facing her questioning, Noah just pressed his lips together and didn’t deny it.
Seeing this, Sumr was stunned, never expecting this man to do such a thing!
Knowing full well there was sothing in the drink, yet he drank it for her to see?
All at once, her heart was filled with helplessness, and she lifted her head to et his dark eyes.
She gritted her teeth, thinking it would serve him right if she left and let him suffer!
But no matter what, she couldn’t bring herself to do it!
As she stood there, full of speechless frustration and anger, Noah suddenly raised his hand, tossing the empty soup bowl aside, then abruptly turned around, lifted his arm, twisted the doorknob, and pushed open the bedroom door.
