Seeing her agree, lanie Trueman’s smile grew even more radiant, and she quickly turned her head to speak to the staff nearby.
"What are you all standing idly for? Didn’t you see Miss Shawcross is about to get off the car? Why don’t you co and help her with the door? Isn’t this treating her unfairly!"
Watching lanie’s enthusiastic deanor, Sumr Shawcross couldn’t help but inwardly scoff.
In the past, she was naive and didn’t understand lanie’s scheming nature. It was only today she realized that what seed like acts of goodwill were actually designed to belittle her.
Currently, her popularity was no match for lanie’s, so the red carpet treatnt she received naturally fell short, without being surrounded by eight bodyguards.
But lanie’s words not only flaunted the gap in their popularity but also conveniently showcased her own magnanimity and kindness.
However, Sumr couldn’t be bothered to expose her at that mont. Instead, she allowed the staff to open the car door and stepped out.
The red carpet was a long staircase leading from bottom to top and straight into the main hall of the venue.
"Wow, two goddesses walking the red carpet together is truly a sight for sore eyes. Not only do Miss Trueman and Miss Shawcross have similar singing styles, but they are also very good friends in daily life," comnted the male host waiting at the end as the two walked the red carpet together.
Sumr lifted her hem and walked up the carpeted steps with lanie by her side, while lanie happily greeted the photographers on both sides.
Just then, the female host at the end of the red carpet received a note from Zeke Sawyer’s assistant. Her expression changed for a mont before she picked up the microphone and spoke with a smile.
"But the fate between the two of you runs really deep. Not long ago, Miss Trueman had just taken Master Kai Wyatt as her ntor, and just a few days ago, Master Kai’s own ntor, Zeke Sawyer, recognized Miss Shawcross as his ntor. It’s said that it’s not only because of a life-saving favor but also due to a great admiration for her talent. It seems Miss Shawcross is really quite exceptional..."
When the female host finished speaking, there was an uproar at the scene.
Sumr smiled with satisfaction, thinking that Zeke Sawyer was indeed loyal, fulfilling his promise to help her.
Then she turned to look at lanie. Although her face was adorned with exquisite makeup, her expression had frozen.
Seeing lanie’s current deanor, Sumr felt a sense of smug satisfaction.
She knew very well that although lanie appeared gentle and vulnerable on the surface, deep down she was very ambitious, always wanting to compete with her and overshadow her.
However, with Zeke Sawyer recognizing her as a ntor, lanie was, in essence, now her disciple’s disciple. How could she not be furious?
Surprisingly, though, lanie’s expression only froze for a few seconds before she recovered her smile.
"Sister Sumr, you’re really amazing, soon you’ll be outshining ," she said, though her voice carried a slight tremble.
"Of course," Sumr casually replied, not wanting to engage in any superficial pleasantries.
After all, the dia couldn’t hear their conversation.
lanie’s expression stiffened again, looking sowhat surprised—how could the previously naive, fallen heiress seem to have changed into soone different today?
"My heels are too high and I’m walking a bit unsteadily. It would be bad if I fell and had a wardrobe malfunction later. Sister, could you give a hand?" Halfway down the red carpet, lanie suddenly stopped, turned to Sumr, and said.
Hearing this, Sumr agreed without a second thought.
"Hmm, okay."
Seeing this, lanie smiled again. It seed she overthought it—a brainless fool will never beco smart!
