"Did you get into trouble?"
Though he was questioning her, there wasn’t the slightest trace of anger in his low voice.
Because for him, her causing a ruckus outside and him cleaning up after her had already beco a habit.
The fact that she could still call him without a hitch ant that the trouble she got into wasn’t that serious.
"Hehe, not really... just a little fuss, nothing serious." Sumr Shawcross chuckled awkwardly.
As Sumr’s voice fell, a wave of pain shot through her left shoulder as the doctor stitched up the wound.
Noah Drexler’s Adam’s apple tightened, and a bit of distress crept onto his handso face.
"Alright." He paused for a few seconds before opening his lips and responding softly.
"Oh, and... you have to promise not to ground this ti." Sumr was evidently delighted to see how readily he agreed.
The pain from the stitches wet Noah’s handso face with sweat.
He took a deep breath before responding again.
"Okay."
As soon as he agreed, Sumr’s happy voice ca through the phone.
"You’re really the best!"
After a few seconds of silence on the other end, Sumr’s gentle voice continued, suddenly asking him seriously.
"By the way, Noah, when are you coming back?"
Noah furrowed his brows slightly, trying to keep his tone as calm as possible.
"Sounds like the trouble you caused isn’t minor."
"Noah, do you really have to think so badly of ? Can’t you just see the good in ?" Upon hearing this, Sumr couldn’t help but get a little angry. He constantly thought she was out to harm him or had bad intentions!
How much longer would it take for her to erase her forr poor image from his mind completely!
Hearing her angry complaints over the phone, the frown lines on Noah’s face, caused by pain, gradually softened.
The expression on his handso face also relaxed a little...
At that mont, listening quietly to her babbling voice on the phone was the only relief amid his recently tense days.
He couldn’t help but slowly close his eyes, relaxing his entire body a bit.
Just then, her justified complaints ca through the phone once more.
"You’ve been away for two days; can’t I miss you a little?" Sumr, in the hospital on the other end, bit her lip and said discontentedly.
Couldn’t she simply ask about his schedule out of concern and miss him?
In the two days he was gone, she really didn’t get used to it. She’d had nightmares two nights in a row and hadn’t slept well, and if he didn’t co back soon, she might end up with dark circles under her eyes.
As her words fell, Noah’s body trembled slightly... he didn’t even react to the needle piercing the flesh as the wound was being stitched.
And at this mont, his handso, cold face was filled with undeniable joy!
Did she just say... she misses him?
"..." Sean Morgan, who’d been anxiously watching the doctor stitch up the wound, was startled seeing his boss’s expression, showing a look of terror.
That rare emotion on his boss’s face now... is happiness?
