Feng Xiyan was slightly surprised when he learned Bai Hanyun had bought firewood for the citizens. With a smile on his lips, he said, "Xiyan thanks Fairy Bai on behalf of all the common people in Xiqiang City."
Bai Hanyun was happy when she saw Feng Xiyan’s smile and added, "I also bought more high-carbon steel for you. This ti, I got the kind suitable for forging weapons. From now on, use this T10-type high-carbon steel to forge weapons, and keep the last batch for building the city later."
"I’m still searching for suitable materials that could be used to repair the city. Once I find suitable materials, I will buy so for you to try."
Feng Xiyan nodded and replied, "The reconstruction of the city can wait a few more days since we have already repaired the city wall and have military tents."
Hearing that, Bai Hanyun felt relieved. As long as the city wall had been repaired, the defense of Xiqiang City wouldn’t be easily breached by enemies.
"Good," she said, then noticed that Feng Xiyan wasn’t inside the tent and asked, "Feng Xiyan, are you going sowhere?"
Feng Xiyan nodded and explained, "Yes. I’m on my way to the warehouses with General Tan. We are going to count the grain to pay the soldiers and workers."
Hearing this, Bai Hanyun nodded and asked again, "Then can you accept today’s supplies?"
"Yes."
While they were talking, Feng Xiyan arrived at one of the courtyard houses used by the Feng Army as a warehouse and said, "Fairy Bai, Xiyan has arrived at the warehouse."
When the soldiers guarding the main entrance saw him, they clasped their fists and greeted him, "This subordinate greets the Great General."
Feng Xiyan nodded at them, then entered. Walking straight to one of the empty front yards, he asked, "Fairy Bai, how much are you sending today?"
Bai Hanyun glanced at the full warehouse and replied, "The sa amount as yesterday."
The mont she said this, Feng Xiyan paused for a second before continuing toward the largest courtyard in the mansion. Upon arriving, he went directly to the storage room in the rear area.
Standing in the middle of the empty yard, Feng Xiyan said, "Fairy Bai, I’m ready to receive the supplies."
"Got it. Rember to step back," Bai Hanyun reminded him, then whispered to the antique mirror, "Hey, help send the supplies over."
The antique mirror glowed once in response. In the next second, a bright golden light shrouded the warehouse, and all the boxes inside disappeared.
On the other side, Feng Xiyan watched as countless boxes appeared out of nowhere and stacked neatly in the yard.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Looking at the mountain of boxes in front of him, Feng Xiyan was speechless.
"....." Looks like I need to gather more offerings for Fairy Bai. Given her spending habits, she probably doesn’t have much offering to sell now.
Not knowing what he was thinking, Bai Hanyun suddenly rembered sothing and asked, "Feng Xiyan, I forgot to ask you. What are you doing with the bags, tal boxes, and the plastic trash?"
Snapping out of his thoughts, Feng Xiyan replied, "The bags are very durable and light, so I gave them to the farming team. They are keeping the bags to store sweet potatoes during harvest season later."
"As for the tal boxes, we are using them to store weapons in the armory. The brown-color boxes were given to the soldiers. They said the boxes could be dismantled and used as bed pads. They absorb moisture and make the bedding softer."
Hearing this, Bai Hanyun smiled and praised him, "You guys are so smart. The cardboard boxes are indeed great as mattress pads. What about the plastic waste from the food packaging and the plastic food containers?"
"We didn’t know how to process it, so we just burned the food waste. The tal cans from the at were good, so we lted them down and forged kitchen tools for the common people," Feng Xiyan reported calmly.
He paused for a second, then added, "As for the transparent food containers, we clean them up and store them in the kitchen’s storage. They might co in handy when we are doing missions later."
After hearing how they handled the containers and plastic waste, Bai Hanyun let out a sigh of relief. "That’s great. Just make sure there is no plastic waste left lying around."
While Bai Hanyun was thinking about the environntal damage plastic could cause to the other world, Feng Xiyan thought she was worried about their secret.
He looked at the bronze mirror and said seriously, "Fairy Bai, you don’t need to worry. We always unpack the food before distributing it to outsiders. Only the Feng Army knows the original packaging and the source of the supplies. No one else will know our secret."
Not understanding why he said that so suddenly, Bai Hanyun could only nod and give him a thumbs up, "Oh... you did a good job!"
Receiving her praise, Feng Xiyan’s heartbeat quickened and his mood lifted.
Seeing that it was getting late, Bai Hanyun said, "It’s getting late. I still need to find suitable construction materials for you, so I will head back first. See you tomorrow, Feng Xiyan."
Though he was reluctant to end the conversation, Feng Xiyan knew many tasks awaited him, so he could only say, "See you tomorrow, Fairy Bai."
After he said that, Bai Hanyun tapped the antique mirror’s fra twice. Then, putting the antique mirror back into her backpack, she left the warehouse and locked it.
Getting into the car, Bai Hanyun said, "Brother Hua, let’s go ho."
As Hua Yuyu started the engine, Bai Hanyun took out the bread and soy milk and filled her empty stomach.
anwhile, Feng Xiyan watched as the dim golden light surrounding the bronze mirror faded.
He sighed in disappointnt, then carefully wrapped the bronze mirror with the red silk cloth and placed it back into the wooden box.
Carrying the wooden box, he left the courtyard house and went to find Tan Pengtai in another courtyard.
