Jiang Yinqi didn’t wait long for the call to be connected.
Soon, a calm, deep voice ca through the speaker: "This is Lei Jingqian. Please state your na."
Leaning back in his chair, Jiang Yinqi replied with a faint smile on his lips, "Captain Lei, my na is Jiang Yinqi."
Hearing his na, Lei Jingqian raised his brows slightly. "Why is the famous Attorney Jiang calling ?"
"Captain Lei, I heard you are investigating the underground organizations, but your hard-earned leads have gone cold."
Narrowing his eyes, Lei Jingqian asked, "Attorney Jiang... it seems you have so connections within the Special Forces."
Jiang Yinqi chuckled and responded calmly, "You flatter , Captain Lei. I rely stumbled across sothing that you might be interested in while investigating another matter."
Intrigued by Jiang Yinqi’s words, Lei Jingqian put out his cigarette and leaned on his desk. "What information do you have?"
Hearing this, Jiang Yinqi was sure that Lei Jingqian’s investigation had reached a dead end. After a brief silence, he said, "Captain Lei, before I give you the information, I want a promise from you."
Knowing nothing cos free in this world, Lei Jingqian asked calmly, "What do you want in exchange?"
"I want you to protect the new Chairwoman of the Bai Group, Miss Bai Hanyun."
The mont Jiang Yinqi said this, Lei Jingqian’s brows furrowed. ’It’s her again. What is her connection to the underground? Why is her na always popping up in my investigation?’
Despite his suspicions, Lei Jingqian’s curiosity and caution toward Bai Hanyun deepened.
After thinking about it, he said, "Alright. I promise to protect her as long as it doesn’t hinder my investigation."

Checking his laptop, Lei Jingqian saw the unread ssage. Confirming that Jiang Yinqi had indeed sent the file, he opened it. After reading it, his eyes lit up.
Grabbing the phone on his desk, Lei Jingqian pressed a button and ordered, "Call everyone to gather in the eting room in five minutes."
"Yes, Captain."
Hanging up the call, Lei Jingqian quickly printed out the file, made copies, and hurried toward the eting room.
anwhile, at the law firm, Jiang Yinqi’s assistant knocked on his office door.
Knock, knock, knock.
A mont later, Jiang Yinqi’s voice ca from inside. "Please, co in."
Pushing open the door, the assistant stepped inside and said, "Attorney Jiang, soone just delivered an invitation for you."
Looking up from the docunt he was reading, Jiang Yinqi raised his brows slightly. "An invitation? From whom?"
The assistant handed him the invitation card, and Jiang Yinqi examined the luxurious invitation in his hand.
"It’s from the Hu Family," the assistant replied.
Pausing for a second when he heard this, Jiang Yinqi responded, "Thank you. You may return to work now."
After the assistant left, Jiang Yinqi opened the envelope. Seeing that it was for the Hu Family’s welcoming banquet, he muttered, "Why would the Hu Family suddenly send an invitation?"
Growing curious, Jiang Yinqi picked up his phone and opened WeChat. After typing for a few seconds, he sent the ssage over.
[Zuquan, was it you who sent the invitation for the Hu Family’s banquet tonight?]
Jiang Yinqi didn’t have to wait long for a reply.
[No. Why? Did soone invite you to the banquet tonight?]
Reading Hou Zuquan’s reply, Jiang Yinqi frowned slightly and murmured, "Could it be Aunty Hu who sent this invitation?"

After confirming it wasn’t Hou Zuquan or Hu Chaoyang who sent the invitation, Jiang Yinqi leaned back in his chair, falling into deep thought.

The call connected, and a lazy, sleepy voice ca through the speaker. "Elder Brother Yinqi, it’s rare for you to call at work hours. Did sothing happen?"
Jiang Yinqi smiled at Bai Hanyun’s familiar lazy voice. "Did I disturb your sleep?"
Sitting up in bed, Bai Hanyun paused her drama and replied, "No. What’s wrong? Do you need sothing from ?"
"There is a banquet tonight in Xi Yang City. I need a female companion. Hanyun, do you have ti to accompany to the banquet?" Jiang Yinqi explained, glancing at the invitation card in his hand.
Bai Hanyun raised her brows slightly at his words.
After a brief silence, she said, "Elder Brother Yinqi, plenty of won would gladly accompany you to the banquet as your companion. For you to ask , the host must have so connection to , right?"
