The two soldiers were not the ones from yesterday, and were unaware of Bai Hanyun’s appointnt with He Xuanren.
Hearing this, one of them asked in confusion, "Mistress?"
Noticing his confusion, the other soldier whispered, "Could it be... Miss Bai?"
Rembering the rumors circulating in the mansion these few days, the first soldier looked at He Xuanren and said, "Please wait a mont. I will go inside to report."
Just as he was about to step away, he paused and turned back to ask, "Uncle, may I have your na?"
"This commoner’s na is He Xuanren," he replied politely.
Receiving his answer, the soldier nodded and walked into the mansion. Soon, he arrived outside the main courtyard.
Seeing him approach, a young servant who was sweeping the floor stopped his work and bowed slightly. "Sir, do you need anything?"
The soldier returned the gesture and explained, "Brother, there is an uncle nad He Xuanren requesting to et Miss Bai. He said he had an appointnt with her yesterday and is here to deliver the goods."
"The Great General is not here, so it’s inconvenient for to relay the ssage directly. Brother, can you help with this? That uncle is waiting outside the main gate."
After listening to his explanation, the young servant nodded. "Sir, please wait a mont. I will inform Miss Xiao Cui imdiately."
As a low-ranking servant, he did not have the privilege to speak to Bai Hanyun directly, so he could only seek out Xiao Cui.
Getting his answer, the soldier clasped his fists and said, "Thank you, Brother."
While the soldier waited outside the main courtyard entrance, the young servant hurried to the dining room. Seeing that Bai Hanyun was still there, he quietly approached Xiao Cui, who was standing on the side.
Xiao Cui raised her brows lightly when she noticed him. "Why are you here?" she asked calmly.
The servant bowed slightly, lowered his voice, and replied, "Miss Xiao Cui, a soldier ca just now and said that an uncle nad He Xuanren is waiting outside the main gate. He claims to have an appointnt with Miss Bai."
Hearing this, Xiao Cui rembered yesterday’s appointnt and nodded. "Understood. Please tell the soldier that Miss Bai will go out shortly."
"Yes, Miss Xiao Cui." The servant bowed and hurried away.
After he left, Xiao Cui walked up to Bai Hanyun and reported, "Miss Bai, the rchant from yesterday, has arrived and is waiting outside the main entrance."
Hearing this, Bai Hanyun put down her chopsticks. She took a sip of tea, wiped her lips, then stood up.
"Let’s go et him."
"Yes, Miss Bai."
With Xiao Cui following closely behind, Bai Hanyun walked toward the main entrance with anticipation.
Fifteen minutes later, she walked out of the main entrance of the Great General’s mansion.
Smiling at He Xuanren, Bai Hanyun said, "I’m sorry to make you wait, Stall Owner."
He Xuanren clasped his hands and replied politely, "Young Lady is too polite. This commoner just arrived and didn’t wait long."
Bai Hanyun’s smile deepened at his words.
’It takes at least fifteen minutes just to walk here from the main courtyard. Including the ssage being passed around, he must have been waiting at least thirty minutes. This stall owner really knows how to speak.’
Her favorability toward He Xuanren increased noticeably.
Looking at the wooden carts filled to the brim, Bai Hanyun’s eyes flickered with excitent. Maintaining a calm expression, she asked, "Stall Owner, you brought more today. Are all of these fine silk gauze?"
He Xuanren nodded. "Yes. Would you like to inspect the goods first, Young Lady?"
"Yes."
Receiving her answer, He Xuanren walked to the first wooden cart, brushed away so straw, and lifted a bolt of fine silk gauze. After unwrapping the coarse cloth, he presented it to her.
Bai Hanyun examined the Susha Danyi carefully. After a while, she nodded with satisfaction. "Please move them inside."
Seeing her pleased reaction, the heavy stone in He Xuanren’s heart finally disappeared. He smiled and responded, "Alright."
Turning to his nephews, He Xuanren instructed, "Quick, unload the goods and move them inside."
"Yes, Eldest Paternal Uncle."
Noticing that today’s delivery was several tis larger than yesterday’s, Bai Hanyun turned to Xiao Cui. "Xiao Cui, call a few more servants to help move the goods."
"Yes, Miss Bai."
After Xiao Cui left, Bai Hanyun turned back to He Xuanren. "Stall Owner, this is our second ti doing business. It’s impolite for to keep calling you that."
She offered a gentle smile and introduced herself. "My na is Bai Hanyun. You may call by my na. If you don’t mind, may I know yours?"
The mont He Xuanren heard her na, his eyes widened in shock. ’Heavens! This young lady is the rumored fiancée of Great General Feng! No wonder the Great General’s servants and Feng Army soldiers are so polite to her.’
In the Central Continent, there were four classes among the people: nobles, scholars, farrs, and rchants. Out of four classes, rchants were the lowest class in the fourth-class hierarchy.
Even during the He Clan’s glorious era, He Xuanren had never received such respect from nobles. And Bai Hanyun’s current identity was equal to that of an Empress in the western region.
Collecting himself, He Xuanren bowed deeply. "This commoner’s na is He Xuanren. Being able to do business with Miss Bai is this commoner’s honor."
Bai Hanyun helped him straighten up. "Master He is too polite."
Once he stood properly, she continued, "Master He, I plan to purchase more goods from you. Do you have anything besides fine silk gauze?"
Hearing this, He Xuanren’s heart stirred with excitent, though he concealed it well. "Miss Bai, this commoner does have other goods, but I’m not sure if they match your needs. May I know what you are looking for?"
’Since he has so many Susha Danyi, maybe he also has Fuanging or Jinsi... If he really has those long-lost fabrics, I don’t have to worry about competing with those major antique stores anymore.’
Filled with expectation, Bai Hanyun asked, "Master He, have you ever heard of Fuanging fabric or Jinsi fabric?"
