Feng Xiyan observed the surroundings for a while and confird that there was no imdiate danger. Turning to the others, he said, "Let’s go down and see what happened here."
Bai Hanyun, Feng Wu, and Wu Jun nodded and followed him down from the watchtower.
As they walked along the top of the garrison wall, Bai Hanyun sniffed the air and caught a familiar bloody scent.
’This scent... Where have I slled it before?’
Noticing her unusual behavior, Feng Xiyan asked in a low voice, "Yun’er, what’s wrong?"
"Feng Xiyan, I sll a faint bloody scent in the air," she whispered with a hint of anxiety in her voice.
Sensing her unease, Feng Xiyan tightened his grip on her hand. "Don’t worry. I’m here," he said softly while patting the back of her hand.
Bai Hanyun nodded, but her hold on his arm tightened instead.
Seeing her tense expression, Feng Xiyan glanced at Feng Wu.
Understanding the signal, Feng Wu nodded, activated his lightness skill, and disappeared quietly.
While Feng Wu went to scout the surrounding area, Feng Xiyan led Bai Hanyun and Wu Jun toward the command room.
Ten minutes later, they arrived outside the command room.
Raising his hand, Feng Xiyan signaled them to stop. "You two wait here. I will go inside and take a look."
"Be careful," Bai Hanyun said, reluctantly releasing his hand.
Feng Xiyan nodded and stepped inside.
While waiting, Bai Hanyun and Wu Jun found a concealed spot nearby and hid there.
Inside the command room, Feng Xiyan noticed bamboo scrolls and papers scattered across the floor and tables. He first scanned the room, then checked carefully for bloodstains—but found none.
After inspecting the scattered scrolls and confirming they contained nothing important, he gathered them onto the table and exited the command room.
Seeing him coming out, Bai Hanyun and Wu Jun stepped out of their hiding places.
"How is it? Did you find any clues?" Bai Hanyun asked.
Feng Xiyan shook his head. "Nothing useful. Just so ordinary military texts scattered on the ground."
Looking at the inside of the command room, Wu Jun thought for a mont before saying, "If there are no visible clues, then we will have to look for hidden ones."
Hearing this, Feng Xiyan turned to him. "You can do that?"
"Yes." Wu Jun nodded and took out a black suitcase from his Qiankun Pouch.
Opening it, he put on a pair of rubber gloves and slipped plastic covers over his shoes. Once ready, he said, "Stay outside while I work."
"Got it," Feng Xiyan replied, glancing briefly at the small bottles of liquid inside the suitcase.
Carrying his equipnt, Wu Jun entered the command room.
While the two were talking, Bai Hanyun sniffed the air again.
"Yun’er, what are you doing?" Feng Xiyan asked in confusion.
"The sll of blood is stronger here," she replied quietly.
Watching her sniff around like a hound, Feng Xiyan grew curious. He followed her and took a breath—but slled nothing.
"Yun’er, I don’t sll anything. Could you be mistaken?"
Bai Hanyun shook her head. "I have slled this before. It’s not ordinary blood—it feels darker... colder."
As the words left her mouth, realization struck her. She froze in place as a chill ran down her spine.
Seeing her pale face, Feng Xiyan hurried to her side. "What’s wrong? Why do you look like this? Do you feel unwell?"
Grabbing his hands, Bai Hanyun said in horror, "Feng Xiyan... I have slled this scent on CEO Gui before. But the last ti he visited us, it was gone."
Not fully understanding what she was trying to tell him, Feng Xiyan held her cold hands and tried to calm her. "Yun’er, I don’t sll anything."
As the bad premonition spread in her heart, Bai Hanyun’s thoughts raced.
’Brother Hua said that kind of bloody scent only appears on people who have killed a lot of people.’
Raising her head to look at Feng Xiyan, she suddenly leaned closer and sniffed his neck. After sniffing for a long ti, she slled nothing.
Caught off guard by her sudden intimacy, Feng Xiyan blushed hard and stamred, "Y–Yun’er, w–what are you doing?"
Ignoring his question, Bai Hanyun frowned deeply.
’As the great general of the Feng Army, Feng Xiyan must have killed countless enemies. Yet, there is no bloody scent on him.’
Staring at Feng Xiyan, her frown deepened. ’So this sll isn’t caused by killing. Then why does CEO Gui have it... and why does this place have it too? What is the similarity between CEO Gui and this place? What did I miss?’
After racking her brains, Bai Hanyun’s eyes suddenly widened as everything connected into one truth.
Gripping Feng Xiyan’s hands tightly, Bai Hanyun said in a trembling voice, "Feng Xiyan... this isn’t the sll of blood. It’s the sll of death."
Feng Xiyan’s expression sank when he heard this. After a brief mont of silence, he asked, "How are you sure?"
Taking a deep breath, Bai Hanyun explained, "I slled it on CEO Gui when he only had a few years left to live. At that ti, he hadn’t t Gui Ying yet."
"However, when he visited us last ti, that bloody sll was gone. He said he had recovered, and that ans Gui Ying successfully healed him, which extended his lifespan. That’s why the bloody sll on his body disappeared."
Bai Hanyun tried to suppress her emotions and continued, "Brother Hua also slled blood on CEO Gui before, but the sll he slled was different."
"The blood sll that Brother Hua slled only appears on people who have killed many others. To put it simply, it’s more like so kind of aura instead of sll. But if killing caused it, why can’t I sll it on you?"
"As the great general of the Feng Army, you must have killed countless enemies... right?"
After hearing her reasoning, Feng Xiyan’s expression turned grave. "If this is truly the sll of death, then sothing capable of causing massive casualties must be happening here."
Bai Hanyun looked at him for a while before asking cautiously, "You... believe ?"
