The Yin Mirror smiled gently when she heard Feng Xiyan’s words. "Master, reversing ti is rely one of my abilities."
Hearing this, Feng Xiyan gave her a deep look before turning his attention back to the surroundings.
A few minutes later, ti froze once more. With a flick of the Yin Mirror’s fingers, ti began to flow again.
Bowing slightly toward Feng Xiyan, the Yin Mirror said, "Master, ti will now move at an accelerated pace until it returns to normal. May you find the answer you seek."
After leaving those words behind, the Yin Mirror turned into a streak of golden light and disappeared into the red mark on Feng Xiyan’s wrist.
Once she left, Bai Hanyun and Wu Jun exchanged glances before walking up to the wall. Following Feng Xiyan and Feng Wu’s gazes, they looked down.
Outside the garrison, Bai Hanyun saw thousands of soldiers facing off against a few hundred people wearing strange clothing made of fur and animal skins. Each of them holding a weapon and a shield, looked like trained soldiers.
Unable to see clearly from such a distance, she took out four pairs of military binoculars and handed three of them to Feng Xiyan, Feng Wu, and Wu Jun.
Holding the binoculars, Bai Hanyun scanned the scene below. The mont her eyes landed on the group of strange people, she exclaid, "Brother Wu, look at them!"
Following her words, Wu Jun shifted his focus from the soldiers and zood in on the group of strange people. When he saw their hands, his eyes flickered.
"Those fingerprints must belong to them." Wu Jun said with certainty.
Bai Hanyun nodded. "No wonder the fingerprints have human patterns but strange shapes and large sizes. They are wearing gauntlets over their fingers."
Hearing this, Feng Xiyan and Feng Wu also focused on the group of strange people.
As Feng Xiyan scanned them, his brows furrowed deeper with every passing second.
Not hearing any response from him or Feng Wu, Bai Hanyun lowered her binoculars and saw Feng Xiyan’s grave expression.
"Feng Xiyan, what’s wrong? Did you discover sothing?" she asked.
Feng Xiyan lowered his binoculars and replied, "I think I know who those people are."
Unable to suppress her curiosity, Bai Hanyun asked further, "Who are they?"
"They are people of the Dizhu Tribe." Feng Xiyan replied gloomily.
When his words fell, Feng Wu hesitated before asking, "Master, didn’t you say the Dizhu Tribe has always lived in seclusion? How could they co here?"
"Have you seen the markings on their faces and bodies?" Feng Xiyan asked him back.
Feng Wu nodded.
"Those are the Dizhu Tribe’s sacred markings," Feng Xiyan continued. "Only mbers who successfully co of age are qualified to receive them. Children and the weak are not qualified."
Hearing this, Bai Hanyun tilted her head slightly. "Feng Xiyan, how do you know so much about them?"
"I read about the Dizhu Tribe in an ancient text when I was first stationed to defend the Western Region," Feng Xiyan replied calmly. "At that ti, the Yuezhi Tribe was eyeing Xiqiang City, so I decided to learn more about the twelve tribes. Unfortunately, there’s not much information about the Dizhu Tribe."
While they were speaking, the two groups below began to move.
Raising his sword, the general shouted, "This is already the seventh ti they’ve tried to kidnap our people! No matter what, we must not let them leave alive today!"
As his voice echoed through the air, the soldiers recalled the bloody scenes left behind each ti these strange people appeared. Their fury ignited instantly, and their morale surged.
Raising their weapons, they stomped the ground and roared, "Kill! Kill! Kill!"
As the soldiers’ cries shook the heavens, the Dizhu Tribe’s people also raised their weapons.
Shouting in a strange language, their leader yelled, "Kill them so we can live!"
Though the general and soldiers couldn’t understand his words, they understood his intent.
"Attack!" the general roared the mont the Dizhu Tribe’s people made their move.
With that, the two sides charged toward each other, colliding violently.
On top of the wall, Bai Hanyun’s face was drained of color. Clutching her binoculars, she staggered and trembled. "They... they are killing for food."
Noticing her pale complexion, Feng Xiyan hurriedly supported her. "Yun’er, are you alright?"
Bai Hanyun grabbed his arms tightly, her eyes fixed on the battlefield below. As she watched, the color completely drained from her face.
Sensing sothing was wrong, Feng Xiyan glanced down. When he saw the grueso scene below, he imdiately pulled Bai Hanyun into his arms and pressed her head against his chest.
"Don’t look," he said, covering her eyes and blocking her view.
While Bai Hanyun struggled to suppress the nausea rising in her stomach, Feng Xiyan and the others witnessed the hellish scene below.
After killing the soldiers, the Dizhu Tribe’s people dismbered their bodies on the spot and ate them. As they consud flesh and drank blood, their strength visibly increased.
Unable to watch any longer, Wu Jun turned away and closed his eyes.
Standing behind Feng Xiyan, Feng Wu lowered his binoculars and asked, "Master, what are your instructions?"
Feng Xiyan remained silent for a long ti before saying, "The general said this is the seventh ti the Dizhu Tribe’s people have co to kidnap people. That ans the Dizhu Tribe treats the people here as livestock. It would be illogical for them to slaughter the entire garrison unless..."
"Unless they know more people are coming," Bai Hanyun finished quietly.
Hearing this, Feng Xiyan looked at her. "Yun’er, how are you feeling?"
Keeping her eyes on Feng Xiyan’s face and refusing to look below, Bai Hanyun replied softly, "I’m fine."
Seeing the color slowly return to her face, Feng Xiyan finally relaxed. After thinking for a mont, he said, "Judging by the ti, General Zhan and his troops should be arriving soon."
Turning to Feng Wu, he ordered, "Feng Wu, contact General Zhan and inform him about the Dizhu Tribe. Regroup with him and gather here."
Clasping his fists, Feng Wu responded, "This subordinate accepts the order."
With that, he activated his lightness skill and vanished from sight.
