“Hey, Sheto! How are the knights on top of the hill!?”
“…Still there, she said. Gathering together, to block the path!”
“I see! That being said, how strange it is, for us to be helped by a goddess!”
Even though the situation seed desperate, the demon general was still calm. It did not seem like arrogance. The way he thought was just fundantally different.
However, Salia’s information made everything quite clear and grim. The basin they were in was not large, but the only way to the closest mountain was through the hills up ahead.
And there were knights blocking the path. Knights who had taken nearly no damage up until now.
“But there is nowhere to retreat either… In that case, we must go forward.”
Berganda looked around and then stopped in a cloud of dust.
“All of you, make a circle! Keep the buzzing flies away from until I am ready!”
Sheto was finally free from the unending shaking. And so he slid off the minotaurs back and landed on the ground.
“What are you doing?”
“Isn’t it obvious? I’m going to protect you and get us out of here.”
He said, and then one of the monsters brought him a rope.
“Sheto. I am going to use this to bind you to .”
“Hey… What!?”
“It cannot be helped. Do you think that you can run out of here on your own two feet?”
As they talked, the sounds of horse hooves echoed loudly around them. The goblins desperately thrust out their spears to keep the enemy at bay.
“Fine! But, I want a weapon! If you die, I have nothing. I die too!”
“I knew you would say that. And so I prepared sothing. Komos!”
While his clothes were in tatters, the hobgoblin had managed to survive. He rushed forward and handed over a bag. Sheto accepted it quietly and looked inside. Then he quickly put it on.
‘Looks like everything is in there.’
“Yeah.”
“When you’re ready, climb on my back. Strap your bow and arrows on tight so that they don’t fall off.”
He said as if it was the most normal thing. However, there was no ti for hesitation.
“Alright.”
“Leave it to . No matter what happens, I will deliver you to my master.”
Sheto held on tightly to his back. At the sa ti, Berganda wrapped the rope around them and tied it firmly.
“The rest of you! Listen up!”
A circle of hundreds of monsters. The knights rode around them like ravenous wolves.
Still, the general declared in a loud voice without fear.
“Now, we are going to make a break for that hill. If there is any way out of this, it is through there!”
He said, and then picked up a stone and threw it. The stone flew through the air and knocked one of the knights off of its mount, causing the others behind to stop.
“All off you! Follow now! If you can keep up, you will survive! However, do not let the enemy touch this creature on my back!”
“Aye!”
He lifted his battleaxe into the air.
“Good luck.”
“I hope you survive too.”
Minotaur said to his attendant. And then he roared.
“Goooo!!”
In the next instant, he ran so fast that Sheto nearly lost consciousness. It was clearly different from how he was running before. It was like a charging boar.
“GET OUT OF MY WAAAY!!”
The roar nearly destroyed his eardrums. And the screams of humans and horses followed. Knights flew into the air and then slamd down on the ground.
“Follow the general!”
The attendants shouted, and the monsters began to flee all at once.
