I bought a large puzzle box
“Do you have other boxes like this one?”
“Yes, we do. So of them are quite intricate as well. Though, they are not that popular. The craftsn make these as part of their practice with woodworking. And they ask us if we could sell them here.”
“Ah, I se.”
So that was why they were not very expensive.
Liza had been able to buy her box with her personal allowance.
“Do you have one that is larger?”
“We do. Shall I bring it?”
“Yes, please.”
They were not suited for storing large quantities of money, but perhaps I could use it to store a little. And so I asked Mr. Haines for a bigger one.
After waiting for so ti, he returned with a box that was about thirty centiters wide and fifty centiters long.
“Hmm. I see. So that’s how you open it.”
“Yes. They make the contraption well hidden, so it is not too easy to open.”
The surface of the box was covered in patterns, which made it hard to understand what to do at first.
You had to rotate it and push different points in the right order.
And unlike the dice boxes, it did not tell you exactly where. So it would be harder for soone to do it the first ti. I was only able to do it after Mr. Haines taught .
“Well, I will take this too then.”
“Thank you. I shall have it delivered to the mansion.”
After paying, we thanked Mr. Haines and left the store.
“Mama, look what I got!”
“Look, Leo.”
“Wou?”
“Hehe. They really are enjoying themselves.”
“It is fun when you can solve a puzzle on your own.”
As soon as we went outside, Liza and Tilura showed their boxes to Leo.
Leo looked puzzled but watched as they showed her how to open them.
After that, we went to an open cafe in order to have lunch. It was the sa place I had stayed at with Mr. Ekenhart previously.
We had a large variety of food, both purchased at the cafe and the street stalls.
Leo was enjoying sausages and at skewers that Liza and Aloysius had bought.
“Really, Tilura sure is stubborn.”
“I thought it is important to see things with your own eyes. Because there is so much that I still don’t know!”
“Haha. You are very similar to Mr. Ekenhart. Well, or is it Claire?”
“Mr. Takumi…”
We were talking about how Tilura had wanted to go to the slums.
She wanted to go, because she knew very little of the situation there.
Of course, Sebastian and the others were against it, but since they did not want her to go off on her own with Rahle again, she was eventually given permission under certain conditions. ȐἈℕȯ𝐁Е𝓢
She would have to take a guard, as well as Leo. And she was to stay close to them no matter what.
Furthermore, Aloysius would go with her, since he knew about slums, and wanted to learn more about this town.
