We talked with Deurgo
“There’s no need for smalltalk. These two n want to talk to you about the familiar. Now, sit down!”

“Shut up and sit down!”
The guard grabbed Deurgo and dragged him to the chair.
“Now, I leave the rest to you.”
Sebastian and I sat on the other side of the table while the guard moved to the wall behind Deurgo. I could see several holes in the wall. That was probably where Claire and Tilura were looking through.
“Thank you. Now… Mr. Deurgo, isn’t it?”
“Eh!? And who are you?”
He glared when Sebastian tried to talk to him.
But Sebastian remained calm. To , it seed like the man was just trying desperately to be intimidating, but it was not working.
Deam had been more threatening. And so had the orcs I faced.
On the other hand, Volgrau and Sherry lay on the ground by my feet, so they were out of Deurgo’s sight.
“My na is Sebas. This is my son, Tak.”
Tak… Well, I suppose that was how you would shorten it. Still. It felt kind of strange and uncomfortable for him to call his son.
“Sebas and Tak? Eh. Never heard of you… And why did you help Volgrau? No. How did you bring him back to life?”
“No, no. You must be confused. Your wolf was very much alive. Just injured…”
Even Weed Cultivation could not bring the dead back to life… I think?
“What? You are trying to trick ! I pierced through him with my magic! I even told him to lie on his back so that he could not defend himself at all!”

Now Sebastian seed to be provoking Deurgo.
Well, I could tell that he was mad after listening to all of that. Even Sherry looked furious.
“Ah, perhaps you just held back in the end. After all, he is your familiar. Surely you felt so sympathy…”

“In that case, it is because you are lacking in skill. How unfortunate for Volgrau, to have a master who is just an amateur…”
“I am able to make wolves into familiars. I have to be able to beat them in order to do that! How dare you call an amateur!”
Deurgo began to shout at Sebastian.
“However, Volgrau is alive, as you can see. Is this not proof of your ineptitude?”

“Hah… And why would I go out of my way to do such a thing?”
Well, it seed that he was so certain that he had killed Volgrau. So it was not surprising that he wanted to doubt it now… However, surely he could recognize his own familiar?
I had seen wolves in Ractos before, and they had their own characteristics. And even if so did look very similar, they still had different ways of barking, different personalities and gestures.
But then again, perhaps I only noticed such things because I was always with Leo and the fenrirs…
I suppose for so people, fenrirs would also look the sa at a glance…
