Mr. Euto’s suggestion did not seem possible
“Surely you’re not thinking about having fenrirs replace horses all over the country?”
“No, no, Takumi. Riding the fenrirs directly and pulling a carriage… It is a different thod than that.”
He said while waving his finger.
I was a little annoyed that he was taking so long to spit it out.
“Then…what is the thod?”
“Railroads, Takumi. You should know all about them. It makes transportation faster. And can carry a lot of people and cargo.”
“R-railroads!?”
“Wuff!?”
I was a little surprised by his answer.
Even Leo sounded surprised.
“I am thinking about laying the railroads all over the country, which would make transportation so much easier.”
“Hmm…”
Indeed, it would be more convenient, but was it really possible?
Perhaps soone in his position could secure the funds and personnel necessary for such an endeavor.
“But what does that have to do with the fenrirs?”
We had been talking about fenrirs up until now. So it must an he thought this idea would be possible with their help.
But I didn’t understand how they were related.
“A railroad ans trains, right? So these trains…they can be pulled by fenrirs…”
“Huh…?”
“As for how trains run… I think in our world, it’s electricity, right? Not steam.”
“Yeah…but…”
“I don’t think we could make steam engines here. I don’t know how they work… Do you?”
“No. Just that they use coal…”
“Right. If only soone who knew that stuff ca to this world… Of course, it’s possible that soone like that is already here, and I just don’t know.”
“So you’ll use fenrirs instead?
“Yes, exactly. That way, we don’t need electricity. Well, there is magic that can do sothing similar. But I don’t know how electric trains work either.”
We had conducted so experints like that in science class back in the day.
Sothing with coils and magnets.
But when it ca to sothing large…like a train. It would be impossible to generate enough electricity to make it move.
“In other words, you’re going to use the fenrirs to replace electric power?”
“Yes, yes. Like a big carriage. How about…have three or four of them together. Would that be enough? No?”
“…That doesn’t sound very practical at all.”
Trains were masses of tal. Well, it was possible that he was thinking about making sothing smaller than the trains I was familiar with. But even then, they would still be incredibly heavy.
On top of that, there was cargo and passengers… Fenrirs might be able to pull carriages at great speed, but this was a different matter entirely.
“Oh… I thought it was a good idea… So much that I jumped out of the carriage in order to tell you. But now I’m starting to have doubts.”
Apparently, he had a change of heart after talking to . If only he had thought rationally before jumping out.
Honestly, he was better off spending his ti researching steam engines.
With that, or find so equivalent with magic. This was a world of magic, so there must be so way… Hmm? Or was it because this world had magic, that so little research was done about such things?
Well, nevermind…
