Lined up in front of royalty
“Your Grace, I have gathered everyone from the village and the mansion together. Except for Leo and the children…”
“Well done, Sebastian. Leo and Mr. Takumi are fine. And there is no need to force the children… Though, Tilura should be with Claire.”
“Certainly.”
As I was petting Leo and the other dogs, the people of the village had lined up, along with the servants from the mansion.
Was sothing about to happen?
“Your Excellency. Over here.”
“Yes, yes. I really don’t like these kinds of formalities.”
“But it is necessary.”
“Very well. I had gone on this journey in order to get away from this. But I suppose I have no choice right now.”
Mr. Euto really did not seem to like having to do this, but he was pushed forward by Ms. Lugretta.
When they were ready, Sebastian put a hand to his chest and raised his voice as if to make an announcent.
“From the royal family, Lord Euto. And Duke Ekenhart!”
“Huh?”
“Wuff?”
And then the line of people all dropped to their knees.
Aside from the children, the only people left standing was Mr. Ekenhart and Euto, and …
“Hehe. Mr. Takumi is surprised.”
“If anything, we should be bowing to good Leo…”
They said with a smile. And then Euto turned back to the people and took a step forward.
He made so speech, as did Mr. Ekenhart, about being grateful for the reception. Things about hoping the village would be prosperous and the like… It all sounded very standard. I suppose it was tradition.
Leo and I watched without really understanding… I had never really seen sothing like it before.
“Hah, that was a surprise. To et soone from the royal family in Range village.”
“Indeed. And then he suddenly attacked Leo.”
After the ceremony had ended, the village held a welcoming feast.
It was similar to the last ti I ca, where tables were brought out in the village plaza, and food was served.
Mr. Harnes was currently pouring so wine for Mr. Euto and Mr. Ekenhart. I was worried that they were getting too relaxed, but at least Sebastian and Ms. Lugretta were keeping an eye on them.
As for Liz and Tilura, they were with Rosalie and the other children, and seed to be enjoying their food.
Leo, Sherry and Rahle too…they were with the dogs.
As for Ms. Claire and I, we sipped on a little wine and ate while talking about what had happened earlier.
Ms. Anne was going around the table and helping to pour wine for the villagers. It was apparently her way of showing how sorry she was. But the villagers seed a little uncomfortable by it. Still, it showed that she was making an effort to talk and get involved with more people… So perhaps it was a good thing?
“Still, what were the three of you talking about? Father said it was nothing serious, but…”
Unfortunately, even if it was Ms. Claire, I could not really tell her the details about it.
So I would just have to tell her sothing that didn’t matter in order to satiate her curiosity.
“Oh, I just explained to him about Silver Fenrirs and Leo. And how I ca to be here… Things like that.”
“I see. While Leo is important for our family, she will also beco important for the country. So everything was alright?”
