We talked while the others cleaned up
“Haha. That was quite entertaining. I see that you are quite odd, Mr. Takumi. It is no wonder the duke is fond of you.”
“Uh…”
I was currently talking with Mr. Soldan in the corner of the room.
The others were cleaning up, but this really just ant putting away the chairs.
Ms. Delia sat next to . Her back was straight and she seed a little nervous, though I didn’t understand why she would .
Well, this was her first ti eting a potential employer… So it was like sitting next to the boss of the company you wanted to join.
“Still, I have never t a beastkin before. I did not realize how different their ears are. Ah, excuse . I don’t an to be rude.”
“Ye-yes…”
Mr. Soldan said conversationally. But he wasn’t even looking at Ms. Delia, as his eyes were still fixed on the papers on his desk.
Well, perhaps his reaction was normal. I had also been surprised when I first saw Liza. Especially since the rest of her looked quite human. But I wasn’t as surprised as most people, because I was just reminded of Leo and Sherry.
“You shouldn’t be so nervous. If you get nervous around the likes of , you won’t last long.”
“Re-really?”
Mr. Soldan continued to say. He was probably talking about Claire and Tilura, since they were the duke’s daughters.
“Ms. Delia, was it? If you want to et the Silver Fenrir, then you will likely have to et the ladies of the duke’s household as well.”
“Oh…? I…I… I am not worthy of eting them…”
“Well, Mr. Soldan is right. They are with Leo right now. And so we will go together and et them.”
“Uh… Are you sure about this? They might take offense at the sight of . Especially since I’m a beastkin…”
Well, there was no need to worry about that. I was more likely to say sothing rude than anyone else, and they never cared.
“Don’t worry, Ms. Delia. Claire…uh, the duke’s daughter, is not the kind of person to react like that. Besides, she doesn’t believe those kinds of rumors regarding beastkin. She should be quite welcoming to you… Oh, sorry…”
“No-no, it’s fine…”
While offering words of encouragent, I accidentally patted her on the head. Perhaps seeing her so anxious had made think of how Liza used to be.
“…It reminded of when people from my village would sotis pat on the head… It was nice…”
“Really? Well, I guess it’s because I’m always petting Leo.”
After that, we listened to Mr. Soldan as he talked about how wonderful a person Duke Ekenhart was.
And when we were ready to leave, I said goodbye to him and left the building with Ms. Delia in order to et up with the others.
