Even close villages were different
“The village had a little celebration at that ti. I suppose you might do sothing for Liza as well.”
“Oh? You did? Everyone?”
“Yes. The elders were especially happy.”
“I see. But was it because you are related to fenrirs… And are a beastkin?”
“I don’t think so. But then again, the villagers will use the smallest excuse to celebrate, because it ans they can drink.”
“Uh, uhuh…”
I wondered if it was like that in Range village as well. But I didn’t really feel comfortable asking.
“Mr. Takumi… The horses are rested up now. We should continue on to the village.”
“Very well… Oh, rember that you can’t talk to too politely.”
“I will be careful.”
“We are really close now. This is the last stop!”
And so I climbed back onto the horse. As usual, behind Phillip…
“Hmm? That smoke…”
“It is white, so at least a house is not burning down….”
As we made our way to Bleiyu village, I saw a cluster of buildings in the distance.
We were almost there… As I thought this, I noticed that smoke was rising into the air.
I turned to Ms. Delia, but she was running on all fours at a great speed. And so I could not talk to her yet.
“Yes, here we are. I hope you aren’t too tired!”
“Haha. I would be more worried about you, Ms. Delia. I was just riding.”
And so we arrived at the entrance to the village.
While Ms. Delia was panting a little, she did not really look that tired. It was impressive.
The entrance to the village was very simple. There was just a wooden fence that surrounded the buildings. And one path that extended from the entrance.
I could see that there was a plaza near the center.
That was probably where they had gatherings and feasts, just like in Range village.
“Hmm… There might be more buildings here than in Range village?”
“As it is close to the forest, the fence is also a little higher.”
“Phillip, Nicholas… You seem to be noticing a lot…”
“It is part of our training. We always observe a new town or village when we arrive. After all, we might need to escape.”
“You can say we are always thinking about combat. It is hamred into you when becoming a guard.”
Now that I thought about it, Phillip had said sothing similar when I first went to Range village…
“So…Ms. Delia. What is that smoke over there?”
I had not seen smoke like that since coming to this world.
It felt like there was too much smoke for it to be for cooking.
“Ah, the old n are smoking so at. They sotis do it with orc at in order to preserve it. It is quite delicious.”
“Smoked at… Ah, of course.”
“Oh! That is much better than dried at!”
Phillip reacted quite happily to Ms. Delia’s explanation.
