Chapter 1165: Chapter 1166: Whose Boyfriend Is So Handsome
Rong Yan wouldn’t push Rong Nanfeng to his limit, but that didn’t mean she wouldn’t give him a warning.
She would handle disciplining Rong Nanfeng in private, she decided, not wanting Yan’er, who had just started feeling better, to be troubled by the shameless actions of others again.
Dinner was a joyous affair.
After the meal, Lin Zhiya could tell she was tired and took the initiative to bathe Little Baby, urging her to take a bath herself and head back to her room early to rest.
Little Baby was exceptionally well-behaved that day, not clinging or fussing to have Rong Yan bathe him. He obediently followed Lin Zhiya, but before leaving, he ran over and hugged her neck, planting a fierce kiss on her face and whispered in her ear, “My mom is the best, my pride,” then with flushed cheeks, he shyly scampered away.
Lin Zhiya didn’t hear what he said. Seeing his ears turn red, she guessed he’d said something encouraging to Rong Yan. Not wanting to tease the little guy, she took his hand and said to Rong Yan, “Yan’er, we’re going to head back to our room then. You should rest early too.”
“Okay.”
Rong Yan felt a sweet warmth in her heart as she straightened up.
Lin Zhiya took Little Baby back to their room.
Rong Yan poured herself a glass of water and headed towards her room.
The room was just as she left it that morning, the air still seemingly holding onto the ambience of the previous night’s intimacy, flush-inducing and heart-pounding.
She showered, changed into fortable clothes, dried her hair to fall lazily over her shoulders, and opened her laptop to initiate a long-awaited video call.
The video call took a full three minutes before it was answered.
Before he picked up, Rong Yan received a call from Estelle, who exasperatingly inquired if she had offended anyone again. The several appointments for the week that had been set for her were all abruptly canceled by the pany. Estelle wanted her to ask Li Shengxiao what was going on.
Rong Yan knew already who was behind it.
Aside from Sir Lin, no one else at KT Entertainment could wield the power to blacklist her like this.
She had braced herself for the consequences the moment she rejected Sir Lin’s proposal to be his woman behind the scenes. Thus, finding out from Estelle about the industry blackout didn’t surprise her at all.
She was even aware that the upper management at KT Entertainment wouldn’t inform Li Shengxiao of her being blacklisted internally and might even suggest that she wanted to take a break if he started asking questions.
She could have plained and exposed Sir Lin’s actions to Li Shengxiao, but Rong Yan chose not to, simply advising Estelle to remain calm.
After she hung up with Estelle, the video finally connected.
The man’s chiseled face appeared from the other end, the hotel room background indicating his location. He wore a bathrobe, and his hair was dripping water, obviously having just e out of the shower.
Rong Yan hadn’t seen him for just one day, but for some reason, it felt like a long time had passed. She eyed his handsome, profound features with a hint of greed.
Li Shengxiao wiped his hair carelessly, tossed the towel to one side, and sat down in front of the camera. Noticing her staring, a look of surprise crossed his face, “What’s up? Why are you suddenly looking at me like that?”
Rong Yan propped her head up with both hands, her fair, heart-shaped face charming and pretty, eyes unwavering, “Nothing much, I’m just admiring how handsome someone’s boyfriend is.”
