Rong Yan had just stepped out of the taxi when she received the call from Jiang Chenyue.
She picked up her phone and answered, “Hello, Mrs. Jiang.”
“Yan, are you free today? Let’s have tea together.”
“Right now?” Rong Yan glanced at the towering building and said with difficulty, “I still have some things to take care of; I’m afraid I can’t right now.”
Jiang Chenyue said, “Where are you? I’ll e over and wait for you!”

Rong Yan was surprised by her suggestion and hesitated before looking at her wristwatch. After pondering for a moment, she said, “I’m in the downtown area. It’ll take about two hours to finish up. If Mrs. Jiang, you are ing over, you could leave in about two hours. Send me a message when you arrive, and I’ll e find you after I’m done.”
“I’ll find somewhere nearby to have a drink. You go ahead with your business; don’t worry about me. I’ll wait until you’re finished.”
“Alright.” As Rong Yan walked inside, she said, “Then Mrs. Jiang, I’ll hang up now.”
“Go ahead.”
Rong Yan hung up the phone.
She had just reached the reception desk when the receptionist saw her and asked softly, “Miss, who are you here to see?”
Rong Yan walked over briskly, put down her phone and smiled slightly, “Hello, I’m here to see your Mr. Wang Ying.”
“You’re looking for Mr. Wang?” Seeing that she wore a hat that covered most of her face and her appearance seemed quite young, the receptionist asked with confusion, “What is your business with our Mr. Wang? Do you have an appointment?”
“Yes.” Rong Yan took out a business card from her bag and handed it to her, “Here’s my business card; I’ve scheduled a time with Mr. Wang before.”
Upon hearing that she had an appointment, the receptionist’s skepticism diminished a little, her expression softened, and she accepted the business card with a polite tone, “Alright, please wait a moment. I will confirm with Mr. Wang.”
“Hmm.”
Rong Yan stood aside waiting for her to confirm.
The receptionist made an internal call and in less than two minutes, she put down the receiver, her attitude became much friendlier and enthusiastic. With a professional smile, she apologized, “Sorry for the inconvenience, honored guest. I’ve confirmed with Mr. Wang, she indeed had an appointment with you. As this is your first time visiting our pany, let me take you up.”
Rong Yan remained unflustered, posed, and said, “Thank you for the trouble.”
The receptionist hurriedly waved her hand, “No trouble at all, it’s my duty. Please follow me.”
Lemon Entertainment is a film and television pany that has emerged in the industry in recent years, specializing in TV shows and web series segments. They have invested in several costume dramas with good viewership ratings, earning a second look from insiders and seemed poised to soar high and bee a pany to rival KT Entertainment and HuanYu.
However, over the past two years, the films produced by Lemon Entertainment have been one flop after another. Several big projects floundered without causing even a splash, resulting in a financial crisis for the pany and a struggled ensuing development.
Out of desperation, Lemon Entertainment blindly invested in several costume fantasy dramas in frenetic attempts for a cure, leading to yet another set of quiet flops. After a series of investment failures, Lemon’s business has also quietly dwindled. As new film panies spring up like mushrooms after the rain, seizing large portions of the market, Lemon, who made early investment missteps and went in the wrong direction, was squeezed the most by these new petitors. Many in the circle lamented the unfortunate turn of events for Lemon Entertainment.
She was looking for precisely this kind of pany that was in dire straits and had to make a last stand. Otherwise, with the clout of KT Entertainment in the circle, other panies simply wouldn’t dare to take the risk of cooperating with her.
