Her bright eyes fixed on the man’s face, “How do you have my old photos? Are you investigating me?”

“Is your investigation about Shengxiao?”
“Yes and no.”
Rong Yan showed a surprised expression, “Yes and no?”
Qin Jun changed his posture, picked up the coffee in front of him, and took a sip. The taste was bland, and the coffee beans were of poor quality! He frowned, put down the cup, swallowed the unpleasant coffee, and looked at Rong Yan again calmly, “I investigated you because of your relationship with Li Shengxiao, but this time, my investigation has nothing to do with him.”
“Then who is it related to? Boss Qin wouldn’t be bored enough to investigate someone like me for no reason.” Rong Yan smiled and took a sip of her coffee. The Blue Mountain flavor was just right; she added two sugar cubes to balance the bitter taste of the coffee. Paired with sweet red velvet strawberry cake, it wasn’t particularly delicious but at least not bad.
Qin Jun looked at the smile on her fair face, feeling a bit moved. After a moment of distraction, he withdrew his gaze and didn’t directly answer Rong Yan, “I have no need to lie to you. My investigation isn’t because of Li Shengxiao. As for who it’s for, I can’t tell you until I’ve figured it out.”
Rong Yan already had an answer in her heart, holding her coffee cup with both hands, “You said on the phone that you wanted to ask me something. Now that the coffee and cake are here, can you tell me?”
“It’s nothing major.” He looked at Rong Yan’s left wrist, his gaze deep, “I’m just curious about what Miss Rong’s wrist looked like before the tattoo.”

There was nothing on my wrist before the tattoo, just an ordinary wrist. If you’re curious about what it looked like without scars, look at your own wrist; it’s the same as yours.”
“It’s not about the scars.”
“Then what is it?” Rong Yan was getting a little impatient.
Qin Jun called her out, yet his words were cryptic, unwilling to speak clearly. What’s the point of drinking coffee like this?
Probably noticing her impatience, Qin Jun pressed his lips, not beating around the bush anymore, leaned forward with a serious and earnest expression, “I’m wondering if there’s any distinct feature on Miss Rong’s wrist, like a birthmark or something.”
Birthmark? Rong Yan frowned, her eyes clear and bright looking at him, with surprise and doubt, finally turning into calmness. She shook her head, giving Qin Jun a definite answer, “No.”
This answer was like a deflated balloon falling to the ground, and his heart fell with it and bounced back up again, “No? Think again.”
Rong Yan, “No means no, no matter how much I think, there’s none. I’ve never had a birthmark or anything on my left wrist. If Boss Qin is looking for someone, he most likely got the wrong person.”
She initially thought Qin Jun called her out to ask about Mrs. Jiang, to see how she knew her and whether she approached her with a purpose. Unexpectedly, Qin Jun seemed more like he was searching for someone. Rong Nanfeng and Jiang Meiqi certainly weren’t her biological parents, and she didn’t know who her real parents were, but Jiang Meiqi once said her biological parents were petty criminals, so her background, no matter what, couldn’t be linked to the Chu Family far abroad.
