Clasping her own hands and hanging her head low, she said vulnerably, “You didn’t have to worry about me just now, I could have drunk that champagne. Did I… did I hold you back?”
She had heard about the relationship between Rong Yan and Rong Weiwei and regretted not accepting and drinking the champagne readily, making Rong Yan drink it for her instead.
It made her feel as if she had let Rong Yan down in terms of stature!
Qi Yue hung her head low like a child who had done something wrong, looking dejected. Seeing this, Rong Yan couldn’t help but be exasperated; she pinched Qi Yue’s cheek and said with a smile, “It was just a glass of champagne, not as serious as you think. She came all the way to ask for my blessing. If I didn’t give it, she wouldn’t have achieved her goal and left. Rather than continue to be disgusted, I preferred to drink the glass.”
Relieved to see that Rong Yan wasn’t upset about the marriage news, Qi Yue moved on and started chatting with her about other topics.
As they talked, Rong Yan began to feel something was amiss with her body.
