Sitting with her back to the door, Fu Ya immediately turned her head upon hearing this and, sure enough, saw the figure standing at the doorway. When she saw her stand still by her side, Fu Ya’s heartbeat quickened, “Then what, what do you want to do?”
She hadn’t realized that her demeanor already betrayed her guilt. Before Rong Yan had even said a word, she had shown fear.
The makeup artist, spotting trouble, discreetly pulled the assistant aside and stood back, hoping to avoid being caught in the crossfire.
While Fu Ya wallowed in her guilt, unable to pay attention to others, she bit her lip, attempting to make herself appear more righteous and pre-emptively snorted coldly, “Don’t tell me you’re here to take your anger out on me. Fu Ya looked horrified, quickly realizing she had given herself away. She hurried to regain control of her expression, but due to sheer surprise and fear, she was unable to control the muscles in her face, which twitched incessantly, distorting as if she suffered from facial paralysis, “I, I, I don’t know what you’re talking about. How can you accuse me of contacting the media? I don’t even know the media you’re talking about, and why would I want to help Mrs. Rong? Does Mrs. Rong even need my help? With her status, she can contact the media herself if she wants, why would she need me?”
