"I know we are in tis where we cannot pick and choose our battles. I am also aware that you are doing what you can for our survival. However, I am also worried about you. Forcing yourself too much can have a negative impact on your nstrual health."
"Thank you for worrying about . Luckily, I am far too hard-headed to let such setbacks affect . You don’t have to worry about such things either."
Rin assured Reina, but his words did little to ease the worry on her face. He understood Reina’s frustration, but Rin could not take her advice to take it easy at the mont.
His base needed a strong foundation, and to build that, he needed weapons that would help him.
According to the original novel, the second task would be to find sacred treasures the system had placed across the earth. Those who acquired one could bury it in the ground around their base and create a ’safe zone’ for humans to live in.
These sacred treasures were bestowed upon humanity as soon as the apocalypse started and the MC had managed to obtain three before the first task ended because he knew of their location already.
However, there were a few treasures that had disappeared before the MC could get to them and the one in the museum was one such treasure.
It was kept in the inner security vault but getting to it would not be easy. As soon as Rin opened the door, it felt safe to ignore it.

This was not new information for Rin. So he felt safe to ignore it and continue forward. Reina moved to follow him, but he stopped her.
"Don’t follow . Just keep healing as much as you can from there. Think of it as practice and do not stress out too much."
Rin assured Reina but her expression remained troubled. She looked at Rin’s thin physique and made a comnt.
"Won’t it be better for to go in? I can heal myself much quicker—-"
"We cannot risk losing you, Reina. You are far too precious to . So please support for now. I will do my best to co back unhurt."
Rin assured Reina before he stepped forward. Because of this, Reina lost her chance to say anything more. All she could do was watch him walk toward potential death.
__________
’Darn it! Rin took by surprise by calling precious. Why did he say that? Did he an it? And why is it making feel so flustered?’
Rin had called Reina precious before, but it had never made her feel like this. Her heart was pounding and she could not take her eyes off Rin. Sothing about him felt different this ti.
She could not understand her feelings, but she could make a clear conclusion based on what she was feeling.
’Do I have a crush on Rin? When did it develop? Should I... do sothing about it?’
Reina knew that feelings often complicated things and she had tried her hardest to not like anyone other than Alia. But she had never even realized when she had started to feel affection for Rin.
In fact, she was sure she had thought more about Rin this past year than she had thought about Alia.
Even when the apocalypse began, she had chosen Rin’s words over her worry for Alia. But...what did it an for her?
"Reina, are you betraying and our pact? What about Alia? Do you not care for her anymore?"
Shelly’s voice echoed like a phantom inside Reina’s mind and it made her grip tighten around her short sword she had taken out for protection.
Rin was walking through the empty chamber and neither fast, nor strong. Thankfully, those monsters were neither fast, nor strong so Rin was able to deal with them without much trouble.
But Reina felt her heart skip a beat every ti Rin got too close to a fatal injury.
’I want to help Rin as much as I can. I have been by his side for years now and filled Reina with a surge of anger.’
Just the thought of doing that filled Reina with unspoken rage. She had never felt this feeling before even with Alia.
It was terrifying and yet, she couldn’t control her feelings.

The system’s sudden pop-up scared Reina. Her emotions spiraled out of control. But just when she thought she was finally in control, she heard Rin’s yell.
"Reina, start healing now."
Soti between Reina’s realization about her feelings and her system’s announcent, Rin had been surrounded by a dozen or so monsters. He was fending them off successfully but a few had managed to scratch him.
His arm was bleeding, but not severely. attacked the monster about to bite Rin from behind
Her body acted on its own and she attacked the monster that was about to bite Rin from the back.
There was a loud noise when Reina’s blade t the monster’s neck, and the monster’s thick skin resisted her blade. But her emotions fueled her strength.
’How dare these monsters attack Rin. I won’t let them hurt Rin. I need to protect him.’
"Reina, what are you doing here? I told you it’s not safe for you—"
"I will not let you face these monsters alone. There are too many for you to fight alone. So if you want to be safe, just grab the thing you ca here for and let’s hurry back."
Reina told Rin firmly. She knew she wasn’t acting like herself. But she couldn’t even rember how she used to act before she realized her feelings for Rin.
"Ugh, Reina you...better not die or get seriously injured. I still need you."
Rin told her before he ran toward the center of the room. Reina watched him leave with heavy eyes before she focused on the monsters around her.
Her body felt lighter, filled with energy and the thought of protecting Rin made her feel more alive. For a mont, she felt like she could take on the world if she needed to.
"Co at . I feel like I can tear you all apart right now."
