"Don’t worry, I promise not to tell a soul, not even my own father."
Jiang Dong swore emphatically.
"Also, there’s a student nad Chen Cang who hit an instructor. He’s my assistant, so please help deal with it."
Tang Ming turned and started to walk away, reminding without looking back.
"Take care."
Jiang Dong bowed and saw Tang Ming off, then imdiately called Wu Xiong and Liu Dewu in.
"Cousin-in-law, that person just now..."
"Don’t call cousin-in-law."
Jiang Dong’s face turned stern as he glared at Liu Dewu: "I let you fool around usually, but now this is Imperial University’s freshman training. You’re causing trouble, so hand in your materials right now, and you can go ho."
"What?"
Liu Dewu’s eyes widened in disbelief as he looked at Jiang Dong: "Cousin-in-law, how can you do this to ?"
"You’re still calling cousin-in-law? You almost got killed. I’ll teach you to call that..."
Jiang Dong raised his hand and gave Liu Dewu a good slap across the face.
Who is Tang Ming? He’s soone who operates amidst the Nine Great Families, and Liu Dewu actually went and offended Tang Ming. Lucky for him, Jiang Dong recognized Tang Ming, or else he would have been done for.
Watching Jiang Dong beat Liu Dewu up, Wu Xiong stood aside, swallowing hard, unsure what to say.
After Liu Dewu lay on the ground beaten and unable to rise, Jiang Dong turned to Wu Xiong: "Wu Xiong, I’m retracting the previous punishnt against you. Continue leading the freshn’s military training, and after it’s over, you’ll be promoted to class leader."
"Ah, thank you, chief instructor."
Wu Xiong nodded repeatedly, completely clueless about what had happened, but he knew it must have sothing to do with Tang Ming.
Rembering how he had punished Tang Ming to run twenty laps back then made him break out in a cold sweat.
Soone whom the chief instructor is so eager to please, and he actually punished him; it’s fortunate that Tang Ming wasn’t upset, or he would have been in big trouble!
"By the way, make sure to take good care of that student nad Tang Ming during the next training sessions; you absolutely must not make him angry, got it?"
Jiang Dong cautioned seriously.
"Yes."
Wu Xiong nodded quickly, responding, and then left the office.
"You bastard, you almost got killed."
Jiang Dong viciously kicked Liu Dewu, then promptly called the school to have them revoke Chen Cang’s major derit penalty.
Feeling bewildered, Wu Xiong returned to the dical College to gather the troops, casting a complex gaze at Tang Ming, who was seriously training while holding the military flag.
"Hey, Tang Ming, could you co over here?"
Wu Xiong had the others continue training and gestured for Tang Ming to co over to him.
"Instructor, what would you like to advise?"
Tang Ming looked at Wu Xiong with a cheerful smile.
"I know you’re not an ordinary person, and I’m not going to ask anything."
Wu Xiong carefully chose his words, expressing thanks: "Thank you. You don’t have to participate in military training. I promise to give you full marks on everything. How about that?"
"Is that possible?"
Tang Ming’s eyes lit up; although he wasn’t afraid of the training, not having to attend was still great.
"Technically, all new students have to participate in military training, but practically, for the sake of forming neatly arranged squads, instructors have the authority to drop so students after four days of training if they affect the group formation."
Wu Xiong said quietly: "You can’t tell anyone about this, or if all students start acting out, I’ll be done for."
"Great, don’t worry, I’ll just hide in the dorm and sleep, guaranteed not to cause trouble for you."
Tang Ming nodded repeatedly, very much looking forward to a good rest for a few days: "By the way, Hua Yingjie definitely has so health issues. You should also drop him out, or he might seriously get hurt if it continues. I’m just not sure if you’re up to handling that?"
Wu Xiong, a bit exasperated, took the flag: "Just now I have to find another flag-bearer, that’s what’s troubleso. Take Hua Yingjie with you too; I’m also worried he might get into trouble."
"Haha, thank you, instructor. Goodbye."
Tang Ming chuckled, then rejoined the formation, grabbing a bewildered Hua Yingjie, and ran back to the dorm.
"Ahem, Tang Ming has been punished by the authorities for hitting an instructor, and won’t be participating in the grand parade or military training."
Wu Xiong stood in front of the squad, explaining to everyone before resuming the training.
"Whoa! So hitting an instructor can get you out of military training, huh? Had I known, I would have kicked Liu Dewu a few tis."
Upon hearing this, Shao Wuyou muttered with frustration.
"Why don’t you go beat up the instructor now and see if you get the sa deal?"
ng Xianjun rolled his eyes at Shao Wuyou, enviously watching the duo’s departure: "Old Hua sure is lucky, getting taken away like that. Boohoo, I don’t want to do military training either."
"Yeah, why doesn’t Old Hua have to do training either?"
Shao Wuyou sighed helplessly, feeling both envious and resigned as he obediently joined the training.
Tang Ming beat up Liu Dewu, yet rather than being punished, he got a free pass from training, and Hua Yingjie, because of Tang Ming, also didn’t have to continue.
"Old Hua, what’s wrong with your body? I can tell you’re injured."
Back at the dorm, Tang Ming asked loudly while taking a shower.
"It’s nothing, just a bit uncomfortable; I just need so rest."
Hua Yingjie responded with a smile.
"I know so dical skills, want to treat you?"
Tang Ming popped his head out of the bathroom, looking eagerly at Hua Yingjie.
"No, no, I’m studying dicine myself, I can handle it."
Hua Yingjie, seated on a chair, shook his head quickly.
"Why aren’t you changing your clothes, aren’t you hot?"
Tang Ming looked at Hua Yingjie in confusion, "I’ll be done soon."
"Once you’re done, I’ll head in to take a shower, and chuck these clothes to avoid dirtying the dorm."
Hua Yingjie smiled as he replied.
"Alright then, just wait a bit."
Tang Ming laughed and stepped back into the bathroom to continue showering.
A few minutes later, Tang Ming erged from the bathroom stark naked: "Oh, finally no need to wear that training uniform anymore."
"Thanks to you, I don’t even have to attend training, thank you."
Hua Yingjie, holding his clothes, headed toward the bathroom, expressing sincere gratitude.
"Don’t ntion it, we’re all brothers here, it’s fate."
Tang Ming grinned, pulling out his suitcase to find fresh clothes.
Hua Yingjie entered the bathroom, locked the door, and then started taking off the training uniform.
As he removed his clothes, Hua Yingjie’s face contorted with pain, his body covered in unsightly bruises.
Indeed he was injured, but for so reason, he didn’t want anyone to know?
Tang Ming didn’t pay much further attention to Hua Yingjie, changed into fresh clothes, and lay on the bed intending to sleep.
But after tossing and turning for a while, he couldn’t fall asleep; the intense training of the past few days had left him feeling unsettled with sudden idleness.
"I’m such a masochist."
Tang Ming sighed, pulling out his phone to call Chen Cang.
"Chen Cang, where are you?"
The call connected, and Tang Ming went straight to the point.
"I’m in the dorm sleeping."
Chen Cang’s lifeless voice ca through: "All the new students are in military training now, and since I don’t have to, I don’t know what to do either?"
